1994 Miata A package
Hey guys...a few of you would remember me from the days I used to show up to NEPOC meets in my Black RX8. It's been a while since I posted. A lot has changed in the year since I last posted. I sold the RX8, got my wife a new Corolla XRS. I also had a cool 91 MR2 hardtop with a bunch of JDM goodies, it was fast and fun. I also had an 86 Corolla SR5 I played with. I sold both of them right before I moved to Houston, TX. I've been here for about a month. I love the weather here, the car culture is amazing. I've seen every kind of cool fun car, from old RWD Toyotas, to Lotus Elises, to all the Italian exotics. I looked hard for a cool car, I was hunting for AE86's, maybe an RX7, but I couldn't find anything not overpriced. I then looked for a cheap 2wd Toyota truck...no dice. Then this thing just showed up. It is a 1994 Mazda Miata. It has Power steering an LSD....I never really thought of owning a Miata. My best friend back in MA has a 90 with some mods, I liked it but at the time I had my SW20, and the Miata just felt small and slow, very fun but slow. Well, this Miata is faster, but still slow. Nothing a Supercharger or Turbo won't fix. It is a great starting point, and I get to enjoy the top down fun pretty much year round. Here are some pics

I really wanted an RX7, or an AE86, but I'll make this work.....

Anyways I miss you guys and hope to see again one day. Only in the Summer though, I am through with New england winters! HAhA

Looks good, glad to hear you are having fun down there. I am thinking my next project car will be a 91-95 MR2. Let me know how you think the Miata compares as it is also on my list.

yeah, missed seeing you posting here.........the miata looks nice! time to start modding! do you miss the RX8?

Hell yeah I miss the RX8.....well..I don't miss the $40 fillups every 3 days...man that car was a pig....I put $24 of regular in the miata and it lasted me 2 weeks...

congrats! the miata is a great car! keep her waxed well!

i've been averaging about 17mpg in my 8 for a while (all hwy is usually 20-21mpg), but lately i've been having my foot in it all the time and been averaging 15mpg :) zoom-zoom-slurp-gulp-zoom! :)

quite a drive for you to make it to our next meet dude.....good thing your car is fun to drive so it will go by quick :)

Lately? Is there ever a time when you aren't pedal to the metal? (burnout)

Congrats on making back into the Mazda family. I had a '94 Miata before my P5- and it was the funest car I've ever driven. What they lack in raw power they more than make up for in responsive-ness and just sheer fun. Man I miss that car...

I am in CA right now on a business trip, driving a Chevy HHR, and let me tell you, it's taking me some constraint to not floor the living bejeezus out of that thing with my manager in the passenger seat.

Do it! I'm in Mass for the next month or so on business w/ a rental, and I beat the bejeezus out of it :D

Yes, I am slowly dragging the average mpg down. I started with 15 miles of 28mpg, then after 2 miles of city, it was 17.3mpg :). Right now I dragged it down to 22.9mpg.

Thing is, the suspension is so soft and the steering is so crappy that I just don't feel great throwing the car around corners. I was driving on rt 84 from 280 to rt 1, which was a WICKED twisted road. Oh how I WISH I had my 8 there. ******'a it was some tight corners. With this rental, I had to be super-*******-smooth to load the suspension in the corners without "bounce" and try to keep my foot off the gas with my manager and a co-worker in the car.

hehehe, I know the feeling. I was late the other day (last Friday I think) and I 4 wheel drifted the Impala arnd the cloverleaf, it was funny as crap. Hurray for slip angles! :p
