Just got it on Saturday and almost have it broken in already! I love this car!

I called the dealer and got quotes for intake and exhaust. I'll prolly have to wait until after the holidays to purchase them.

Here are some pics. I didn't notice the stupid dealer plate and frame until I snapped the pics.

I've had mine for a little more than a month now, I still go for random drives almost nightly! Congratulations!

Unless they're willing to give you some awesome installation deal: skip the dealer! Check out www.mazda3online.com (ProtegeGarage or "PG" for short) for some great deals!

Welcome! I find it hard to resist the temptation to just drive as well. Soon, the mileage is going to catch up to me. Damn, I love TR!

ur gonna love the brake dust this thing makes, my wheels were black from the track last sunday haha

congrats!

and yeah, if you have even an iota of mechanical inclination, buy the stuff and install it yourself. get to know your car!

most of the stuff you'd want to do at first is basic bolt on stuff anyway.

Well i am a mechanical retard. Although after reading some of the threads on here I am getting the courage to do it my self.

I think the first thing i will replace is the shifter. That thing got mushy quick. It looks easy, perhaps I wont break the car.

that's an excellent place to start. the only thing to be careful with is the trim clips. I haven't taken trim pieces off in a speed yet, but sometimes they bend or break if you're not careful. other times it takes arnold like strength to get them off. just read a how too thread and have at it man. good luck!

I've taken a lot of the trim/dash apart. The dash and center console are great, I haven't broken a clip yet on these.

The "skid plates" on the door jams and the pieces the skid plates touch, and the little plastic things stuck to the feet of the seats are another story, I broke 2 or 3 of the clips while removing them.

So dash/center console is fine, plastic molding around doors/seats is easily broken.

congrats on the ms3, best color by the way (first) yea and dont buy anything from the dealer, there are plenty of places u can buy for alot cheaper

I had the same issue with the skid plates on my f150. I bent the crap out of the fasteners. it's ok though I just beat on it til it looked right. hahahahaha

Hello and welcome to the forum. I am a fellow twin city guy here. I noticed that you got it from Morries in minneatonka. How was it dealing with them? And what price did you get it for? I am going to be buying one in the spring so I would like to know what they are actually going for in this area.

Hey YR. Fellow Twin Cities guy here. Been lurking for a few months and finally decided to join.

I bought my Speed3 from Morries in July. The dealership was OK. Ended up paying sticker for a 07 Sport. They didn't want to dicker because it was the last Cosmic Blue model they had. I think I could have got a couple hundred knocked off if I would have bought a Black one. Bottom line don't expect a deal. If you don't buy the car someone else will and they know it.

It's going to be a long winter's wait for you! Come spring you will be a happy man in this car.

Sweet more Twin Cities ppl! We need to meet up soon.

I paid like 23500. I qualified for Xplan and while the Xplan doesn't apply to Mazdaspeed, the offered to give me the same deal, which was $250 over invoice.

The sales person (Kelly) was the best! She was excited to go on a test drive in the MS3. I was a very picky buyer and test drove the MS3, MS6, BMW 330XI, Infiniti G35x, Legacy GT and WRX. She even went to another Morries to get the Legacy and WRX! All in ll I spent about 6 hours driving over 2 days and she was a good sport the whole time.

When it came time to purchase they were able to get me a sick deal on financing(5.75 over 72) and gave me good deals on prepaid maintenance. They were a tad push about the warranty (looking back I wish I hadn't gotten it because having the warranty might limit some modding.)

At pick up they originally gave me a car with 186 miles on it. But when I complained they found me one with only 14.

I just went in for a mirror upgrade and the service department is top notch. Perhaps that has something to do with them sharing the service facility with Maserati. The service department also has reduced rates for Mazdaspeed accy installs(80 per hr).

Only real complaint is they filled the tank with 87 octane instead of 91.

I did some online dealer quotes awhile back just to test the waters and it looks like you said for Morries they didn't want to give me a quote. But Luther mazda in Brooklyn Park quoted me 500 over invoice and said come spring they would probly do 200-300 over invoice.

How many dealers did you check when buying yours Zspeed?

Then they just add 6.5% for tax onto that? Or are there other charges they add on?

It will be a long wait for me till spring but I want to get one of the new pearl white ones so it is actally good that I am waiting till then. So many guys are wanting to trade in their 07 models just to get the new colors.
