I've used Xylene on several of my turbo cars with great results. I think I posted this somewhere also, but I'll leave just the highlights here.
Mix 100% Xylene with 6 parts of the highest gas you can buy (93octane here)......
1gallon of 116octane Xylene
+
6gallons 93 octane gasoline
-----------------------------------
96.29octane (for appx 7 gallons)
Xylene costs about $4/gallon here and when I go to the track (in turbo cars) I always add a gallon.
Is it safe? Why not? It's already used in the gasoline you buy from the pump. It's one of the two explosive elements. All you are doing is richening up the mixture.
