put on a boost/vac gauge... if it reads higher than about -21 at idle, you have a leak.
get a bottle of windex or soapy water and spray it on all vac lines, while your there, might as well clean the engine bay. lol

you're thinking boost leak... which is a similar, though more difficult problem to diagnose.
I have a boost/vac gauge. when you mean higher, do you mean like -25 or -15? lol. The negative part makes it confusing to how you mean higher.

Think back to your math classes... which is a higher value.
OK so I'm kinda oblivious to the way of the turbo but I have a question? Irealize its not specific to turbo but it always comes up with the MSP
What is the purpose of fuel cut and why does it happen. I get it limits what the engine can do as a "safety" precaution (i think) but would fuel cut go something like this fuel cut-->less fuel-->lean afr-->hotter combustion temps--> hotter engine-->s*** goes boom.
Or am I missing something?
