Now look at this:

The upcoming Mazda 5 looks pretty good to me. Personnaly, I can't stand minivans, they are gas guzlers usefull only a couple of times per year. I have a second kid in the "oven", and I WILL need more space, so I can't wait for the M5. The Kia looks like a cheap made in China imitation of a great looking and well made Hot Wheels...(the P5 that is). Note the rear sliding doors ont the M5

You're right. It is a bit longer and higher than a 3 Sport, but the same width. It is suppose to be a 7 passenger car, but the rear bench seat is for kids... I read it has a 2.3L engine, and read somewhere else it will get a 2L. Details will come with time.

Here's a view of the back
I like everything else except the back.
Don't like how the brake lights are shaped and how it placed up high on the D pillars like those Ford Focus did.

Um..just a quick thought...maybe i am dead wrong..but..

I believe Mazda has a pretty good connection with Kia..wasn't that another whole issue in another forum in this site? i made a long long long post in that thread..

Anyhow, it looks to me the Spectra5 could actually be a remade Protege5..
Considering Kia-Mazda collaboration i believe it is well possible. Kia might have took all the unsold P5s and just redesigned its exterior. Mazda can finish their stocks off, Kia has another car for their lineup. Both wins.
Look at the gauge cluster. Exact same composition as proteges if you look . (tach, speedo, then the two vertically placed temp and fuel..)
Look at the shifter. It looks almost the same as Protege shifters.
Centre console. Just twisted protege console.

You guys just might be bashing a P5 hidden in another cover..

or i can be dead wrong. but my 2 cents.

The Kia5 looks much smaller than the P5. Parts would be too big, wouldn't they???

i doubt there's any chassis sharing between the P5 and the Spectra5, unless you're telling me the new Spectra sedan is a RESKINNED 3rd gen Protege...

and why's that ? They used your car to make another one

the opposite would be frustrating though. knowing that your car really is just a Kia with a different design

but what difference is there between a mazda frame and a kia frame ? I dont think it would really matter since the most imoprtants components arent the same anyway (body, engine, interior, etc)

What is the 0-60 time of our stock P5?
I've just read an review article on Car and Driver magazine of this car. They said it can reach from 0-60 in 8.2 seconds.
And the handling of this car is not bad, but the tires needed to be replaced to get even better grip.
Looks like this is a series competitor to P5 or even Mazda3-5.

I suggest you guys take a look at that article as well. It's in the September issue.
