WTB: Your clean Mazda MP3

Hey all,
I've loved the MP3 since I first saw one in 2003, but never did get one. Now i'm in the perfect position to get one as I just sold my truck (yesterday) lol. I'm wondering if there are some really clean MP3s out there, that one of the members might want to part with. PM me if you have one and some pics. I'm in Indiana, but i can travel somewhere to get the perfect car, lol

I have a really clean 01 Vivid Yellow one. but it woudl take a good offer for me to sell as I paid book for it. Runs like a top, interior is pretty good and the exterior is pretty good as well. Nothing major anywere, Still under 100k as well. I am in oregon so getting it would be alot of fun as well.

both of those look very nice! I am not a very lucky person, so perhaps i'll wait until after the raffle and see what the price is for the vehicle if they don't sell enough tickets.
Also, i guess i'm looking for one with lower mileage, unless price is too good. What would you be asking Matt?

What do you think would be a fair price for it? I called the dealer and they were short with me, and they wouldn't get a carfax for it, told me to. Not much reason to pay a premium for dealer service if there is no service, imho.
Also, I'd still really rather get one from a member on the board, but am really itching to get one sooner, rather than later.
Oh, and I've been looking at the 03 MSPs on here as well and like them too, so if the right one is out there, i'll jump on it.

^ about $4500 maybe? the body is rough, the car has been modified and potentially driven hard, and the mileage is pretty high (which might be ok if there were service records available, but there are probably not, considering it is at a used car lot)

I feel so humble to be mentioned in the same sentence as avarela86 . What makes you want my car over other members MP3? If the price is right anything can happen, but I would probably just buy another MP3 and use the money on more mods, haha. This car is just awesome, other then the lack of serious power (not a problem for avarela86 and his turbo).

As for the link you posted earlier, I think the price is to high for what it is. The only mod I could see is a different muffler (probably cat-back), and that the front wind splitter under the bumper is cracked. The body seems good, and the mileage is average for most MP3's right now. From a dealer, they would need to drop the price about $1000 if everything else is in good condition. From a person selling on there own, about $5,500-6000 seem like the average selling price.


*edit* also noticed that it is missing a lug-nut (seems broken off), and there is some kind of stick on the rear skirt. the front grill has had the black strip painted blue, and possibly the mazda emblem is painted darker. most importantly it looks like the hood and bumper dont line up properly, might have been in a front accident.

^^^ true. It doesn't have that large front wheel gap like stock. I just got used to seeing my MP3 like that, after I put the espiler springs on.

Wow, you guys are good. After looking back at the photos, i can see what you're saying. I did notice the sticker on the rear bumber and i did think about the gap between the hood and front bumber, but i just figured it was normal, lol. I had no idea about it being lowered however.
My fear with this one is that it has so many miles, or is it a lot of miles for a Mazda? Id like to find one that has 60k or so, it's just hard to find.

As far as why i like your car, you seem to have taken great care of your car, and that's important to me. Yes, price is also important, but it doesn't make sense to buy a car at a steal that's torn up. Yours is really clean, it's blue, and you're not too terribly far away.

To be honest, I would need to a price so high in order to sell it right now that this is how you would feel (butthump), you'd be better off finding a MSP. It's just that I invested a lot of time and research into this car and am happy where I am with it. My next car after this will probably be an STi, and I am still far away from that goal.

i got really excited for a bit because i thought i had found an MP3, but in the end they were looking to get $10k for it, which seems pretty high from what i've seen. So i had to pass on that one, unless you guys think that's a decent price at which point i'll take your word on it, since you've been around them longer.
Thanks for keeping an eye out for me too. Maybe if i'm in the 10k ballpark i should just jump on a MSP, which are very nice too. What you guys think?

$10k is definitely MSP territory. The only way I would by a MP3 for that amount is if someone stored it brand new in a garage and forgot about it since 2001, and now magically found it with only 5 miles. Keep looking . I'll let you know if I stumble upon anything.

On a related note. There is a forum member with a turbo MP3 (fully built forged engine and all the goodies) that was raffling off his car. From what I remember it was pushing around 300 hp. Before it went for raffling he was selling it for about 12,000.

great thanks for the input guys. this car has 23k miles i believe, if i remember correctly...they might be a member on this forum, since i've only PMed some people on here and a few days later i just got an email saying they had one for sale. it sounds like a nice car, but it was just a little steep. as for the one in the raffle, i'm waiting for the raffle to end, maybe i can buy it outright, but i have a preference for blue, but it doesn't matter too much i guess....they're both cool..
yea blue, please pm me when you find something out. how strong are these engines, like how many miles can they go?
