Can someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the 99-00 should have the same stuff right? The cars from 99,00 are identical from the A-pillars back. Anyone know if/why door lock motors would be different?

Not sure if this is the part I need or not - my GF has an 03 Protege, and the driver's side power door lock just hums but doesn't open when all the others do. Lookin' to find the right replacement part - I'm mechanically inclined, just not automotively informed..

Anyone know of a CAD designer? From the sounds of things, everyone's gear is breaking. If we could get the gear put into a CAD model, we could have a rapid prototype company (like shapeways.com) make them for like $10 each - and I bet the same gear is used in both right and left side! Unfortunately, I don't have any 3d modelling skills.

haha this is odd. my 2 right side doors quit working too =/ locking/un-locking just makes a grinding sound =/ i also may know a few. at my school we have some like.. EXPENSIVE Cad lab, btw the teacher owns a msp ;]

Does anyone have or have a recommendation to buy power lock actuators for mazda protege, rear door both L and R sides. Mine protege 1999' rear door power lock actuators died recetly, both left and right sides at the same time, unbelievably.
