MSP 03.5
As the title says, looking for a complete head for my MSP and prefer something local to Detroit since shipping will probably be expensive.

are you looking for aftermarket? or stock?

I have a stage 1 ported head by speedcircuit if you're interested. going for 950 shipped

I've gotta head. Been checked and cleaned. Everything is there, would just need to be put together and have the valves adjusted properly. $100 for it all. You can drive to indy probably cheaper than shipping.

thanks, i might still need one, i bought one from another member and installed it to now have oil on my piston which is causing a misfire. i think he sold me junk but waiting to hear his response/excuse!

The valve guides could be dried up and shot, I would always recommend to replace them. And just to ask, how do you know theres oil on the piston? Did you pull the plug and check down there? There arent to many ways to get oil On the piston.

The valve guides would have to be bad, then the valves wouldnt be properly seated. What piston or pistons are getting oil on it?

#3 has oil and no compression. 1, 2 and 4 had from 125 to 135 psi. and yes, i looked down after pulling the plug to see if i was having coil issues to find oil on the top of the piston. i just replaced all gaskets related to doing a head gasket along with studs and timing belt. i assumed the head i bought was good to go, i poured oil on all head componets prior to starting and after it was installed. i also primed the oil pump by turning over the engine without spark or gas being introduced.

Theres a small trick to doing a small check yourself on a cylinder head to see if the valves are seated properly or slightly bent without seeing it visually. Obviously the heads installed. But if you pull it again heres how to check it.

Flip the head upside down, with the bottom of it facing up to see all 16 valve faces. Take some brake cleaner or alcohol and fill the area with fluid. If the valves are bent or theres a problem with the valve seat then the fluid will leak out quickly. The fluid will go down eventually, but should go down real slow. And you should atleast have 165 at all cylinders....most run 170-190

And you can purchase the grinding compound and little suction cup lookin tools to hold the valve to clean the surface and seat the valves properly.
