wtb: MSP exhaust manifold

I need a exhaust manifold too, because mine is all cracked too...I want to keep the stock t25 turbo and the stock wga. What do you all recomend?

No such thing as a cheap aftermarket manifold for this car, it's a god damn joke. Not only are they not cheap, they're overly expensive like most things for this car. The beauty of owning a limited production vehicle...

its not that its limited production.. Its that there is not a big enough market for this car..

If you pay that type of money for a manifold, you're .......silly at best. Dealer prices are not even considered real, as I never ever have gone to a dealer (except to build this tranny that just broke), and never will...for anything. If you've owned almost any other factory turbocharged car, you'd know that those vehicles have much much cheaper aftermarket options, and more readily available as well. This is obviously due to the fact that so few of these cars exist.

Find me a cheaper one, brand new...

I'd buy an un-cracked used Manifold and put some stress relief cuts in it. My point is, and we all know, the Dealers are a joke...For service, for parts, for info....a joke. I'm glad you're OK with paying out the asshole for a simple cast POS. You can't compare aftermarket cost to Dealer, because the Dealer will **** you everytime.

Just because a Steed Speed costs $700, and the Dealer wants $1,700, doesn't mean the Steed Speed is a good deal.... it just means it's cheaper. I'd buy neither. The costs of these Manifolds are a ******* joke. A turbo from Garrett can be had for ~ 1,000 which consists of precise moving parts and has the potential to add 100hp to a car, whereas a Manifold is a non-moving part, can add like 15hp, built typically by robots running G-Code, yet it's hardly less $$ than a Top of the Line Turbocharger. The logic just isn't there.

what dealership is pricing out 1700.00 msp exhaust manifolds?.....please list the dealership. 1990 mazda 929 powersteering pump is 1100.00 but i sure as hell would sell it at suggested list cause i would never sell it. you have to make a compromise somewhere in the parts buisness i would rather make a dollar than nothing.

i called 2 other dealerships that i deal with and they sell them for roughly the same price as i do. mine is 1215.63 plus tax. is it expensive? yes. the dealer isn't goin to sell you some fancy aftermarket exhaust manifold thats a few hundred dollars cheaper unless asked for it. besides i can say as a dealer most of the time i can buy your fancy aftermarket parts cheaper than you can and sell it to you cheaper than you can buy it anywhere else anyway.

The $1700 came from someone who was quoted that in the "What have you done to you MSP today?" thread. I've seen them listed for around $1,300 (similar to yours). My point is the aftermarket manifolds are cheap in comparison to the stock one and the bottom line is that you have to pay to play.

And BTW honda, the reason turbos are so much cheaper is because there are so many of the damn things made (turbos). We're talking millions of turbos of all shapes and sizes, but use common parts. The market for turbo manifolds for 2002-2003.5 Mazda Proteges is barely a speck in comparison. You want the parts, well that's what it costs.

A car that was made for 1.5 years, in very limited #'s, defines Limited Production.

oh yea, I forgot the FS-DE didnt come in 1 million other cars..

Point is, there is not enough interest in these cars..

One situation that you've seemingly overlooked.. Are you gonna use that Hiboost manifold with a stock turbo? Ill make the answer easy for you, you cant.. Let me break it down for ya..

The hiboost is a T3 manifold, not a T2 flange..

Haha, yes I know this, I was just illustrating my point that the aftermarket manifolds are significantly cheaper than the stock ones...

how is it cheaper if you cant use it as it is? Thats like buying a cheap manifold for a civic when you need one for a protege.. Yea its cheap, but you cant use it.. So therefore you just wasted your money..

A t3 manifold/turbo upgrade is going to be more expensive than just buying a brand new (from the dealer) stock manifold..
