I sent a PM for some pics and details but haven't heard anything yet....I don't know enough about aftermarket mods to know what is good, bad, or what to look for when inspecting for repair work down the road

Thats why you start reading on here my man. Look in the mazdaspeed protege section. It has tons of threads on mods guides and tons of people standing buy to answer your questions.

PMed, and I can help answer any questions you have. Edited to add pics. I also have a video available of start-up and idle. Of course it's with the aftermarket exhaust that's currently on it though, but it's basically a detailed video tour of my car :D

Damn tree leaves.. comes with professional interior and exterior detailing prior to purchase ;) I forgot to add that part :D Didn't have a chance to pull the vacuum out there with it raining on and off all day.

jeesus metallic, nice car but man oh man is that thing filthy! :D

there should be no "OR" get the MSP

Well, I took your advice. It did take a little longer than 2 days, actually 4 days to get everything in order and closed.
But here's a pic (it's the previous owners pic, but i'll take some of my own very soon).
And now, Satyr36, there's another 03.5 Sunlight Silver MSP in town, lol!

2003.5 MSP #2091

Thanks!
Just turned 46k on the drive home, i think she's right at 46020 now. It has a brand new exhaust as well as cold air intake. Other than that, pretty much stock.

The drive would have been worth it. He will learn that sooner or later when he gets bite by the mod bug. After one mod he will be singing a different tune. I am! I wish I would have bought the banana of fury before i bought mine.

I'll be relisting my car on here for sale as soon as I get all the things done to it that need done, ie. windshield, hood paint. I'd also be willing to drive the car halfway or more to meet the new owner as well, so they wouldn't have to make the long trip.. as long as they meet me at a car rental place so I can rent one to drive home in ;)

Yea, i messaged her, It is a beauty! Its just that I had a limited timeframe. I'm moving tomorrow (i was actually supposed to leave today, but it got pushed back at last second) and needed to have a car before then, either this one or some blah jetta that I had previously test driven at a dealership here in town. Had I known about all of these cars earlier, i probably would have driven to see a couple of them. But as it is, the seller really helped me out by driving so far to meet me and it all worked out so that I didn't have to buy the jetta (which is a nice car, but it's just not an MSP). Oh yea, and the financials worked out for me too, lol.
As far as mods go, I won't be doing much, however it is in the shop overnight tonight to get cruise put on, as a 6hr drive would suck without it. But it's already got everything I really need. I'm really happy with the car, it fits me very well.

But I hope someone on here gets metallic's car, it's a really sweet one, and from what i've seen and read, it has a ton of potential. Snag it quick

careful with the cruise - turn it off going up hills and use 4th, no boosting in 5th uphill

oh really? I'm glad you said something, what's the story behind that? There will most likely be quite a few hills where i'm moving to.

Just really hard on the engine, I guess. It's part wives tale I think, but people have blow the engine because the fuel goes quite lean at that point. But I'm guessing that's more about people boosting 10+ pounds and flooring it.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, I travel a ton in my car without cruise and it hasn't been a big deal. I think it would be a nice feature to have though. I'd just take it easy on your trip and get a boost gauge put on, later on, to see where you're at when going up hills with the cruise on.

oh yea, the MSP is pretty lean below 4k RPM, so boosting under heavy load (most load is in 5th going up hill) can cause the engine to pop

probably won't, just wanted you to be aware :)

bottom line, if you need to accelerate or go up a hill, drop it down a gear

aww ya punk. even got a lower # then me!!! lol

congrats on the car, sucks your moving~!
