I have a new MS3 and I'm already thinking about winter and snow tires.

So I'm looking for a set of factory alloy wheels from a Mazda3 to become my dedicated snow tires.

I'm not sure if the 16" wheels fit over the brakes on the MS3, if you can confirm that they do, I'm interested, and would probably prefer them to the 17" wheels. If they don't fit, or if I can't get confirmation that they do, I'll have to go with the 17" wheels.

I'm currently leaning toward a winter package from The Tire Rack. They have some great deals, and they arrive at my house ready to bolt on. Tires mounted and balanced with TPMS installed. All for about $1000. No hassle of going to the tire shop with wheels and tires I didn't buy from them. No waiting around for them to mount and balance them, and paying an extra ~$100 or so. ($20/wheel for mount and balance, plus valve stems, plus who knows how much for TPMS installation.)

To compete with this, the OEM Mazda wheels would have to cost me no more than $250 shipped to 02081

Do those include the TPMS?

I'm leaning toward a package from the Tire Rack now. They have packages that include the TPMS and mount and balancing for about $1000.

If I buy used wheels, there's more work and expense for me: buy wheels, buy tires, buy TPMS, wait for them all to arrive. Load them into the car, go to the tire shop, wait for them to mount and balance them. Pay $60 to $80 for the mount and balance, plus another $12 for valve stems.

It would have to be a great deal to make it worth my while.
