WTB: lots of audio stuff, i.e. JL 8w3v2

I've been shopping around for a while and I can't find an 8w3v2 for under $150 shipped. The tweeter here I placed an order with never delviered and when I went in to check on it said they were discontinued and out of stock. Anyone know a good place to get this sub from?

I'm also needing the smallest 10" truck box possible. It's for my wifes car and I want her to be able to unplug the wires and pick it up one handed if she needs the extra cargo space. Any suggestions on this?

I'm also looking for 2 pair of nice doorspeakers for a 3S hatch, something that will be powered by an external amp. Nothing pricey, just something better than stock.

Also, looking for a headunit for my p5 thjat is under $250, has one of those animated faces, plays cd-r/mp3s. Something similar to a MSP kenwood that won't break down all the time. Crutchfield has a nice panasonic for $250 if you guys can't recommend anything better/cheaper.

i had a truck box for sale a while back... am taking out the sub but it was for a 10' ..

take a look.. may be a bit heavy but if you put a lesser grade sub in there it will prob be less then 30 lbs..(was 32 with my boston pro series)

the box looks good but in all honesty I don't think I could offer you anything that would make it worthwhile. I just checked Wal-mart and they had a slim 10" box for $30 that won't require me to pay shipping charges. thanks though.

Just be sure to seal it up, they usualy aren't.

I checked with my buddies at tweeter about the 8W3v2's. They are not discontinued by Jl or tweeter. They just might not have them in the warehouse for your area, there are certainly some around. There are a few available in my region

What brands are available for speakers around you or are you going online for them? JL, eclipse, boston, focal, alpine and pioneer all have decent offereings for a reasonable price.

For headunits, don't rule out pioneer especialy as your local walmart probably has them. They are very good units with great reliability.

yeah shipping would be a b****, though the box is top quality, just no one up here in the tundra seems to need a truck box... i can't believe it either, so i am tryin to sell it online but the shipping charges... well good luck and every one i know who uses pioneer hu has had great luck with them...

Instead of the 8W3v2 might I suggest the Image Dynamics ID8v3? It can handle more power, is a better deal, and in my opinion, sounds better.

that Image Dynamics sub is priced nice but I know nothing about stereo stuff....I get on here and ask around "whats the best 8" sub for a stock MSP box?"...everyone says the same thing...JL 8w3v2, you are the first person to name this sub.....I'm gonna need some more positive votes for it.

yea you can pick up a DEH-7500 cheap as all mighty and it will do everything you need.

You didn't mention in your post that it was for a MSP box...in that case, the ID8v3 will not work. It is too deep, as will be most decent 8" subs. The reason you keep seeing recommendations for the 8W3 is because its one of the few subs that will actually fit.

Anyway, don't take the opinions in this forum as the end-all answer to your audio questions. We have some very good installers that can help you diagnose problems but when it comes to product opinions and/or comparisons, it is best to reach out to a larger audience at a car-audio specific forum.

i didn't feel I needed to mention what box it was going in because that is the sub I've decided on. I appreciate the input but I'm just looking for better pricing.
