WTB Hitch for P5

I am checking to see if anyone out there has a 1 1/4" hitch for their P5 that they no longer want. After a very messy roof-mounted bicycle and garage door incident, I think it's best to put my bike behind my car.

i have read of very few people here that actually bought protege hitches. the owners manual does explicitly state not to tow with the car.

that said, HiddenHitch makes a nice one

Thanks for the info. I plan to put a bike rack on there, so hopefully shouldn't be any issues. I imagine the tranny and engine aren;t really up for the stress of towing.

mazda sells a roof rack bike rack kit if you have the roof rack. plus most hitch warranties are voided when you put a bike rack into them.

Actually, I had the Mazda roof rack, which worked great until I slammed my bike into my garage while it was still on the top of the car. (bang)

I still have the old special brackets, but I like it behind the car anyway for gas mileage reasons. I had a hitch rack on my Corolla that worked great.
