WRX scoop on a pro

I still like it backwards. Our cars are mistaken for WRX's anyways, why would you want to make it look MORE like one?

If you dont do it I will.
Foward looks great.

I always wanted a cowel but dan that wrx scoop looks nice.

why the turbo thats goin on it next month will defeat that whole purpose..

ahhh... so you are going to have a turbo.

if that's the case, then i stick by my first suggestion of having it backwards to vent the hot air. :)

So what are you going to make it feed? A top mounted intercooler likethe real STis, EVOs, and FCs, or ram air like the pontiac Firebird? the Firebird's ram air added 7 hp, and a FMIC + ram air could get you running some serious power, I like it so long as it does somehting. Although painting it as is will scream RICE.

havent decided what its gonna feed, was gonna wait till turbo was on to decide where the air filter system is gonna go , i am thinkin to make a ram air out of it now that i decided to use a front mount to save the sake of a head ache...

oh I read it, and I gotta say, the guy telling you to put it on backwards is most right, otherwise a TMIC or a ram air is good. Cutting a hole and calling functional will only get your engine wet in rain, take one of the three advices and you'll find that your visual upgrade makes you go faster.

A) reverse scoop
B) Top mounted intercooler [very controversial, adds higher center of gravity but uses less piping for turbo lag and less weight also puts the weight closer to the middle of the car for an improvement on MAZDA's already great weight distribution. Problems include, being careful when washing your car with a hose, engine will heat intercooler when idle (no redlight is long enough to heat sink away your power), and higher center of gravity, but it's what my FC has and i love it]
C) Ram air-will add power but keep clear of water, rain is ok. (as mentioned earlier it won't do much with a turbo already forcing air in. TMIC is your best bet if youy have th emoney, if not, reverse scoop, and if you reverse scoop it, bodo or patch it to make it more aerodynamic and stylish, also you would be the only one with it.

the intercooler i have fits the scoop perfect... demisions and everything.. i just dont know if the hood will close.. once the scoop is bolted on, ill see... i have off saturday, gave up on my body guy.. i gonna do it myself..
good luck with modding your hood, I hope my info helps.
thanx , and thanx for the advice, i am open to any.. good or bad..

well it sounds like a fun project, I'm sure you'll find a way to milk Hp out of this body mod, good luck.
