wrapping a header

Thanks. Seems like not a bad deal.

As an alternative to DEI wrap, has anyone had any experience with Thermo-Tec? Here's the link for what I found at Jeg's:
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?lang=-1&catalogId=10002&storeId=10001&categoryId=13943

I was also going to use their high-temp spray to seal the wrap for further protection from heat as well as to keep the wrap from shifting too much.

I got me some of the Thermo-tec wrap & and Im getting the spray seal before I wrap them.

It looks good and will be looking better when painted silver.

Not to thread Jack. But on same topic....

I have just got a roll of black 1" by 50'. Is that enough to do a header. My math is off but 50 divide by 15 is about 3 feet and some inches by also measure the diameter of each pipe.

ANYBODY LOL

i just wrapped my header all teh way to the midpipe last week, i'll c if i can find a pic when i get home

^yep. One 1" x 50 roll

My wagner is still *way* hot (even wrapped). I didn't have any problem doing it - but i would jet-coat it next time...

If any one in houston wants header wrap go to Katy, they have fairly priced wrap for just tax, screw all that shipping cost for such a small item. I bought a 1" x 15' roll for 9.97 plus tax, it was like 10.xx

I bought one small roll to wrap my AC lines. Instead of wrapping the header itself. Once i piece together my exhaust, i'll prolly wrap my header too. The engine compartment gets pretty hot, making my SRI seem useless. maybe i should get more piping and make it a CAI, but if i do that i should get IM spacers and a TB spacer along with it... Living in houston where it rains enough makes me not want to go CAI. Enough about that here's the place.

They are the run of the mill truck and muscle car ppl, but they have some of the things we need. Screw $10 shipping on a $10 Item...

^^threadjack- how do you like your CX-7?[/threadjack]

I wrapped my OBX with some DEI. it ended up unwraveling off the J-pipe, but no big deal.

Im having too much fun with it. but it makes my protege seem so much slower... oh well, turbo time?

All I can say is that I've used a Moroso blanket btw the exhaust manifold and heat-shield and it cracked not long after that (less than 2 months later). It was covered under warranty. The MSP manifold has failed on many cars ant this may just be coincidence, but I took it off and I will leave it like that.

with the 2' x 25, I was able to get the whole header but make sure to do correct measurements before starting because it is cutting it close.
