Here are some of pictures of my jet hot coated header.
www.jet-hot.com
Sterling silver ceramic coating.

Most current. The header has lost its glossy shine from heat and lack of polish on my part.

The header freshly coated.

How much wrap should be needed for OBX or Tsudo headers

(Might aswell wrap them before I put them in)

A How To would be nice too.

what pipes to start with what direction to go with the wrap that kind of stuff, It would be apreciated.

also interested in a how-to. it seems kinda straight-forward but I'm sure there are some tips, tricks, what not to do, best method, etc that someone would be able to share with us first-timers.

I'm thinking one roll of 1in x 50ft DEI wrap should do the trick for a typical 4-1 header (OBX, Tsudo, Thunder). Do you think that will be enough or should I get two rolls? Also, do most people use 1in wide or 2in wide wrap?

I Got the same question, Any help?

Funny, all the guys posting here are in the Thunder GB.......ncluding me. I ordered the 1" DEI....my car guy says it is a good bit easier than the 2" to wrap. Personally I like the wrapped look. Several guys earlier said it was ugly. To me it looks like your a ******* badass. You know....you care more about function than looks. And you just spent all your money on the header so wrapping is the cheapest solution.

I'm in the Thunder GB, too!

Where did you order your DEI wrap? How many feet of the 1" did you order?

I'm probably going to end up wrapping it because my AEM SRI filter sits about 10" from the collector. The 3" intake tube from the filter to the MAF gets so freakin' hot, it's amazing, and that's with the stock exhaust manifold with heat shield! The wrap ought to lower the intake charge temps enough to make me happy.

Has anybody ever wrapped a header, used it for a few days, and decided to take it off? Would this screw up the finish on the header piping? I only ask because I've heard that the wrap can bond to the metal but that might have only been with the mild steel headers (good thing the Thunder is stainless!!!).

Thanks. Seems like not a bad deal.

As an alternative to DEI wrap, has anyone had any experience with Thermo-Tec? Here's the link for what I found at Jeg's:
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?lang=-1&catalogId=10002&storeId=10001&categoryId=13943

I was also going to use their high-temp spray to seal the wrap for further protection from heat as well as to keep the wrap from shifting too much.

you poor guys... my thunder header gets hot yes, but my intake is on the other side of the engine and the heat sheild is still intact... (the mazda3 has the header on the firewall side of the car... )

Also some places have it in Black, Gold, silver and also sell paint to paint it any color do a google search on it........

::edit::
How different is a 2002 Hundai Tibiron 2.0L AT from my 2002 ES? I found an obx 4-2-1 headers but it says for the tibiron, I know I raced one and I had it about a foot or so. Cause if its compatable i found another good deal. ha ha

Off the wall question: Anyone see any detriments to both ceramic coating and wrapping? Redundant? Potential harm?

The FAQ at Thermotec http://www.teegardenmotorsports.com/thermo.htm suggests that ceramic coatings, while they help reduce temps, are primarily there for corrosion resistance.

I've heard of wrapped steel (not necessarily sst) headers corroding over time under the wrap.
