wrapped my ms3 around a pole :-/

I think a lot of people have this image in their head of losing control on the road and then counter-steering and throttling out of a spin and driving away just fine.

I still don't know what innanets is. =P

H&A - I laughed at this comment, because I believe this when I read some of the comments in threads like this.
Its like watching F&F drifting and then going "I could do that if I wanted to".

If you're sideways, then you're sideways and going to hit a pole, curb or car. There's rarely enough room to steer into your turn and hammer the throttle.

Tell your insurance co you want to buy back the car and sell me the seats... they can live on in my MSP...

Sorry about your ride... I remember losing my first Stang to a rollover... I wasn't even driving.. :(

Don't let the innanets upset you so much. You're right in that his hypothetical is a dream scenario and yours is more realistic (I can't even think of a single car that offers the option of FWD or RWD, the drivetrain being the only diff). I was just pointing out that apparently the intent of his post was missed.

i thought of the the clio v6....it might be a good comparison if that same engine was also an option in the fwd layout. but as far as i know this one with the mid engine rwd had like 255hp and the fwd v6 had like 225 or something. as it stands i think the front engine fwd of this car would have won around the track cuz from what i remember they couldn't keep this car under control around the track during Top Gear...worthless Stig

ps...i think this woulda been a badass car to have in the states

Oh, we quit talking about him about 8 pages ago...we devolved once again into explaining why everyone else is dumb.

My bad... just scrolled across it and decided to post my sentiments. Also, why would you have that much trouble controlling a FWD car? A RWD would have probably completely spun 360 if any throttle was being applied. FWD is the easiest to control. I'd blame it on the worn tires before the fact that the car is FWD. (is that a little more on topic or did you cover that too?)

Yes, he was made aware of the tires being the real issue several times - some were subtle, some not. No doubt he knew that long before he posted and was kind enough to show some humility and post anyway.

The rest of us (including myself) got into a tangent about preferences of having FWD vs. RWD when such a situation arises.

He sort of started the tangent by saying "This wouldn't have happened if I had been in an AWD or RWD vehicle, and that's what I'm going to buy next because hurrr I'm smrt."

Sorry zim if the end of that video gave you flashbacks PTSD FTL. Too bad they didnt put a few poles there in that corner lol.

Do you really give a #$^& about some dude who posts his story about how it was the cars fault that it's now waiting to be scrapped?
It sounds kind of lame that you would post about feeling sorry for him when it was his own fault. If the guy who wrecked his car was actually a hot chick who you think you had a chance to inject some fluid into, then I could maybe see wanting to post a 'Gee, I'm really sorry to hear you wrecked your car... is there anything I can do?"

What if he's a hot guy?
OP do you have any pics?

AWD is not safer.

STI on same tires would have wrapped around a pole same as the ms3.

AWD does not help you stop.
