Would you buy an MS3 over a used Evo?

I thought that too but I talked to another Mitsu dealer today and they are all starting at MSRP with apparently very little room to move down from there. They think b/c no more 06s are being made they can sit on them until they get their price. It didn't help that I wanted one without a wing and they only had on RS. Also, the no test drives thing bothers me (even on used models!). Maybe if you put down a deposit, promise your first born, etc. but it doesn't seem worth it to me just to spend $5-10K more than the MS3 I drove today and liked quite alot.

You have your anwer then. And if you are ever down in Miami let me know and I'll let you co drive the Evo at an AutoX.

you're only going to get no wing on the RS in a new one, it was an option in 03, maybe 04 but after that a wing was standard except for the rs.

not to discourage the ms3, as it's a fine choice, but it sounds like the mitsu dealers near you suck. dealers have plenty of room to move and will, it sounds like they're not taking you seriously. i was 22 and walked in alone and test drove mine brand new off the showroom floor with 4 miles on the clock, no deposit, nothing but a credit check beforehand. if you're willing to make a little drive up to schaller mitsu in new britain, ct one of the guys on evom works there and will at the very least get you a test drive, if not in a dealer car in his own (might be stock, i just checked his profile and it says he got a 9 when last i knew he still had an 8 so not sure what's done to it). his name is dragin on evom and i hear he's a real nice guy (never met him in person though). or there's quite a few modified evos in the southwest corner of ct/nyc suburbs that i'm sure would be happy to take you for a test drive but what state of modification they're in will greatly effect your enjoyment :)

HOO-HOO! I might just need an autox in sunny FLA to get me through the winter (I'm checking airfares now). Thanks for the offer!

I think I will look into some other Mitsu dealers. I'm 40, a professional (attorney) and didn't really expect this BS about the test drives. I've seen totally different things at different dealers in my MS3 shopping (some dealers have no cars (all pre-sold), so no test drivers + all sold at MSRP, others have 4 in stock, test drives no problem, willing to negotiate, maybe even give S-plan pricing, etc.) so same is probably true for Mitsu.

I only managed to drive a left over 2003 when it was the 2005 MY. And I'm getting close to 40. Haven't managed to test drive a MS3 yet, but I'm honest with them, say the chances of my buying the car in the near future are not high.
