Let me start by saying i know absolutely nothing about how to install electronics.

BUT im thinking of adding some interior neon lighting to my 3 and while prodding around my interior the other day i noticed some wires which im guessing go to the sensors in my seats. Does anybody know if that would be a viable place to splice into for a power supply?

no.

If you are talking about the passenger presence sensor for the AIR BAG... then don't ******* touch it. You wouldnt want your passenger to die because you installed some extra lighting...

You might be able to get away with tapping off the cigarette lighter; depending on the power rating of the lights you are installing. Do you have any idea how much current they draw?

Thanks! not really in the mood to kill my wife so ill leave those alone.

and no, i dont happen to know how much power they draw ill have to find out. Im the type that plans almost everything before buying any materials so ill have to check.

Go with LED strips from oznium.com, plenty bright and draws less power. You can tap into the passenger side junction box, just under the glove box. You access it from a panel in the foot well. How did you want them turned on/off?
