wiring for a trailer on a P5

i put a hitch on my P5. now i need to know how to wire up the trailer to the brake lights! can i just taap into the lights or i do i need to buy any converters? pls help

Are you using dual or single filament lamps in your trailor lights? If the lamps are dual filament, you can wire a single filament from each lamp (the higher wattage filament) into the brake lights while wiring the each of the lower wattage filaments in the trailor to their respective turn signals. However, if you are using single filament lamps, you will need a converter of sorts.

Did you ever read the manual that came with the car, it says not to tow a trailer with this car. That sucks.

this is true....HOWEVER, if you wanted to pull a small fiberglass trailer that you are only using for more storage space, like those you use with a touring motorcycle....it will pull it just fine with no harm to your car.

HMMMMM... a colored matching fiberglass trailer for the mp5. That might be kinda cool.

I have a wiring kit on my Pro5 that I would be willing to sell. I don't have a hitch on the car anymore. I pulled a motorcycle with mine lots of times with no problems. Make me an offer and I'll try to get you a diagram of the hook up
