Winter tires even needed in Portland?

I moved to Portland last December from Montana. It's normal in MT to have a second pair of snow tires. I'm wondering since winter is so much more mild here in Portland if people even get a second pair of tires or if they just go with a good pair of all season tires?

well, if you need your car EVERY DAY, then maybe some good all weather tires. I used my stock potenza summer tires all year. It doesnt snow here much, last winter was kinda bad and were talkin a few inches. It doesnt stay long eather.

I wouldnt worry about it, just get some good rain grip's and you should be fine.

yea definetly get some tires that are good in the rain, you'll be seeing alot of it!!!

I have never changed my wheel/tire setup for winter in the 7 years I've been driving in this area.

*MSP tires (Potenza somethings) suck in the rain though.
