Well I been meaning to post these for a while. I had a thread going on winter tires and was posting a bunch on the one about the mud flaps.

This is my car now, all ready for the ice and snow. The tires are 205/60/R16s Sunny snow tires. Havn't used them in snow yet but everywhere else the seem good. Also got a fresh coat of wax. Now all i need is something to protect the front. Still on the fence between clear bra and a mask.

Sorry about the crappy cell phone pics of a filthy car. I am running Firestone Winterforce 205/60/16 tires on some powdercoated Mazda 3 wheels. I got a little test tonight in about 1/8" of snow. I know its not much but last year with stock tires any snow was scary. These tires seem like they will be great in the snow. Of course the car feels like a boat now going around corners.

Peter, I live down Park Ave towards Auburn on Mill St. Can't be more than a couple miles away. I will keep an eye out for you.

I am runing Sunny snow tires in the same size as i mentioned. Yeah they are definately a little squishy compared to the bridgestones. My first snow test was my mornign comute. Pretty good I would say. A few sketchy moments, but no more then in any other car.

The roads were pretty messy this morning, I have seen worse but it was that heavy slush that makes ruts and pushes your car around. Crappy roads were compounded by all the RAGING A-HOLES at the 495/Mass Pike toll booth! To the guy driving the empty whide load semi, you know the one who didnt want to wait in line like everyone else so decided to block up 3 lanes of traffic, GO F YOURSELF buddy! Yeah that was me laying on my horn tossin the bird out the window at you. It always seems like in the first snow people forget how to drive and just panic. Wake up Massholes, it snows every year, nothing new. Sorry had to rant for a second

Anyhow checked things out when i got to work. The mudflaps seem to help alot. They stop everythign from spraying up on the side, but they sure help.

Im pretty sure an all black MS3 would stick out, don't think I have seen you yet either. BTW how was the ice storm for you? We didn't loose power or suffer much damage. I did see a nice black STI with a huge dent in the hood pullin on to my street. Pretty sure the guy lives around me someplace. Looked like a branch fell on his har cause it was crushed in from the top.

Yea you have to love the first winter storm. Driving in worcester / ma is scary enough when the roads are dry, snow or ice makes it terrible. I really wish that people had to take a real driving test and then maybe take it again every 5 or 10 years. Some people just don't have a clue.

I really lucky with the ice storm. I woke up to just a little glazing on everything. I didn't even know anything was going on until I started getting phone calls and refugees showing up on my porch. I have family in Holden, Rutland, and Paxton that still don't have power. When I think about it I got really lucky because there is a giant ancient tree in the backyard of my new house. If it started dropping limbs I could have lost my house, garage, and car. Just proves to me I have to trim that thing up in the Spring.

I agree with the driving test thing... My driving test was a joke. I took it up at the leominster/fitchburg RMV. The RMV is in a comercial complex set up, so no real traffic. We went less than a quarter mile down the road, made a 3 point turn behind bjs, backed up in a straight line and remembered my hand signals and that was it.

Anyhow there was a salt truck on 495 last night on the way home. Im not sure why but he was there. The salt was bouncing like mad all over the road. The guy was in the right lane but the salt was bouncing clear off the left side of the road (I think he was going too fast). No wanting to get sprayed by salt I gunned it when I saw the lexus in the middle lane infront of me start to pass him. I sort of boxxed the lexus me in as i caught up, so his car acted like a shield protecting mine. Kinda a dick move I know, but I didnt want that s*** hitting my car. I was actually supprised he didnt pull over to the left lane to pass the salt truck.

Who needs a clear bra when you can just protect your speed with a lexus!
