Winter is here!! What tires are U using?

14" Steelies and 185/65/14 Blizzak WS-50s. I freakin love em.

I came close to buying those....the only thing that put me off is that once they are 50% worn they are equivalent to 4 season tires. How long have you had them and are they wearing fast?

Same ones I use during the rest of the year :D Good ol south ;)

I HATE YOU!

Anyway, I run the stock 03 P5 wheels with 195/50/16 Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50s. I freakin love them. My mom's 05 Altima runs them too on 16" steelies, and that thing is a tank in the snow. Come to think of it, my sister's Maxima has 17" WS-50s, so all the non-truck automobiles in my household (though no on really lives there during the school year) have WS-50s.

Yeah, dry handling sucks, but it's also sorta fun. My car doesn't lean when I corner still, but there is just a big lag when cornering.

I am glad to see alot of us are concern with the snow to use snow tires( I would not want to lose my P5 due to snow (sad1) )
Now, who has them on? Or are you waiting for the 1st snow puff to come down to put them on(it may be too late)??

Still haven't gotten the first Snow accumulation here, but I saw a couple flakes yesterday morning so I slapped my stock wheels back on. I'll probably but my summer ones back on this afternoon though, I miss them already.

I'm definitely waiting for the first snow accumulation to put them on and leave them on, gotta have all the fun I can with the Kumho Ecsta MX before it's too late! If I didn't have a garage at my college apartment I definitely would have them on already though, changing wheels out in a driveway in the snow sucks, I've done it.

<~~~too lazy and looks like we may have one more nice weekend here...
Hell, I even refuse to wear a jacket until I can't stand the cold any more. I'm in denial every year till the last desperate second.

Got mine on this afternoon....the handling is still ok thanks to the RB springs.
I really should have cleaned my rims before storing them for the summer!

Do yourselves a favor and make sure you put anti-seize between the rotor and wheel, they'll come off much easier.

Falken Ziex 512's 215/40/17 on rota 17x7.5" subzeros.

Summer tires you ask? Falken Azenis on stock rims.

Mine have been on since the beginning of October :(, mostly due to the potential of Murphy's Law. That, and if I wait until we do get the first snowfall, it takes forever to get into the local shop to get them switched over.

Very good idea, I'll have to try that. After a winter of New York salt they were all stuck on last spring.

I had the same problem last year.....I had to drive to a garage with 3 steelies and one rim...I looked real ghetto!

Chuyler1 your P5 is looking good with steelies, I like your wheel gap!

I've done a few things to mine today, just to get it ready for winter:
Cleaned it one last time, Added the ski rack, added the hood deflector which is used for avoiding those nasty rock chips, and changed the floor mats

I actually don't have a wheel gap. The tires are pretty much in-line with the wheel well. This is my first winter lowered. I hope the wheel wells don't clog with snow.

I gotta make a trip to walmart for some new rubber mats. I just tossed the ones I had last year because they were caked in salt.

Protege5s look awesome on steelies. I think when I go home for thanksgiving break I'm going to have my snow tires switched onto my mom's 16" winter steelies for her 05 altima (same bolt pattern) and let her use my stock protege wheels.. I bet her black altima looks aweful with steel wheels.

Yeah, my first winter lowered too, running 195/55/16 with my goldline springs. It looks awesome with such a meaty tire completely filling the wheel well. I need to get pics some time this week.

well, I guess I'd better throw my lowere snowtired Lsrblue into the mix as well.. we should make a club or something...

185/65/15 michelin arctic alpine's on lovely steelies.

Seriously, this thread ended up with pics of laserblue P5's with steelies!

Poseur, do you get a rebate on Yakima racks if you live in Yakima? :)

Heh. I should get a discount too, only cause i live 74minutes from yakima. But too bad the Company is from California.
