Windshield wipers replacements don’t fit

Anyone else had this issue? I bought two different types of blade (Bosch at Advance Auto parts, Rain-x at Walmart) that said they were correct for my 2021 Mazda CX-5, yet the attachment that is supposed to work for them does not fit. Now I’m out like $80 and still have a two busted blades that barely work. I had no such problem with the rear blade.

You want to buy blades that use the "top lock" adapter, not the normal J-hook style. I think the Bosch Icon is one that will work, and I think there are some Napa and/or Trico blades as well, just have to make sure they have the top lock adapter.

That said, it's a lot cheaper (usually) to just buy replacement rubber inserts. Pull the old ones out, slide the new ones in. I just replaced the ones on my CX-9, and up here in Canada they were $15 each (used to be like $8 to $10).

For winter, I use Bosch Aero Twin blades (code A398S), which are available on Amazon. During the other 3 seasons, I stick with the OEM blades.

Yes go with the OEM inserts. Super easy and best quality last long although ice chewed up one after a harsh winter but just replaced it again

Ask the dealership. They have to versions of wipers, both OEM, one is cheaper. Ask for that one. Wiper blades, not inserts.
