Windshield question - which one do I need?

I have a 2014 GT AWD. It does not have the tech package. No smart city brake. I need to replace the windshield. The glass company I am dealing with called some Mazda dealer and gave my VIN. This dealer is saying I have "front collision detection" and need to get the windshield that supports that, which of course is backordered until the end of time. To me, "front collision detection" = Smart City Brake, which I do not have. Of the 2 windshields available for the GT do I need the one that works with Smart City Brake (which I don't have)?

I did state I had the rain sensing feature. The next question I was asked was whether I had front collision detection. If I need the harder to get windshield due to the rain sensing feature why bother asking if I have the collision detection?

I read that as well. The thing that is hanging me up is the rep from the glass co treated the two features separately. "Do you have rain sensors" - yes. "Do you have collision detection" - no. Then she said good because they cannot get the glass that supports collision detection. At that point she took my VIN, called a Mazda dealer and called me back and told me I indeed do have "collision detection". I told her no I do not. Bring the glass that has no collision detection support and do the repair.

Better make sure, that if they install that glass you will still have the rain sensing wipers. I think the only thing a dealer can get from the VIN is the trim level, which indicates touring which means rain sensing wipers. I doubt a dealer would go through the trouble of researching it further unless it was your original dealer and he has the information in his database.
