Nice eye..

in delaware there is no limit to the tint u put on the rear windows, but you are not allowed to have ANY tint on the fronts at all.

that being said, i had 20% on my protege fronts and never got hasseled about it once, only time you will hear anything about it is during inspection or if you are being pulled over for something else and they happen to notice

That's a pretty sweet picture of your MS3 you have there...!

well done

Got my tint today. 50% on Front Windows. 35% the back windows. Ill post a pic tommorrow.

VA is BAD BAD BAD for anything infraction related. Reckless driving tickets (or anything over 80mph (interstate is 65mph) are treated the same as DUI tickets.

16mph could mean time in the clink and a serious dent in your wallet. Not to mention no driving for 6 months to boot.

It's enforced by VA State Police, not as much by local constables.

Holy _ _ _ _! (shocked)
That's it! I need to move to Texas or something.
I wonder if I should have bought a Honda Fit instead.
I often find myself going 110mph when I don't pay attention to the speedo for a few seconds. >_<
I've lived here in NoVA for 14 years, but I never knew they were so strict!

The last thing I want is more attention from the donut lovers, so I might actually go with 50%/ 35%.

That actually reminds me of my friend.
Back in 2002 she was driving on I-66, coming back from a snowboarding trip.
She was talking on her cell and not paying attention at all, and as she went over the hill just before the Rte 50 exit (popular trap), the trooper clocked her at 89mph. I accompanied her to the court (mainly to translate) where the judge gave her no slack and suspended her driving privileges for three months. She, being an exchange student, had to take metro buses to the school during that time. >_<

Just a little tip to all:

If you do get stopped by the police anywhere, anytime, unless it is absolutely pouring down rain, immediately roll all your windows down (tinted or not, put them all down), and put both hands on the steering wheel, where the officer can see them (if it is dark, turn on your dome lights, too). Traffic stops and domestic violence calls are two of the most potentially dangerous situations police face. If he/she can easily see into your car, and see you (especially your empty hands), he/she will be more at ease, and perhaps will be more likely to cut you a break.

Just got my car back from the dealership after putting tint on. Got to say....KICK ASS 20% on back glass and doors. 35% on front doors. Limo for the windshield banner(on top of course). Really goes good with the cosmic blue color. The service manager said now the car is complete. Man he has another thing coming. Cant wait to get the Cobb tuning done.

i still havent seen tint on a black ms3. I know there are ppl out there with it done... can someone post pics??

All that got me last time was a request to put the window up so he could check to see if they are tinted... lame ass laws in Cali allow for NO TINT on front windows...Im not even going to try it on the MS3... prob will go with 35/50 combo... what Im not sure of if the step should be done at the little window on rear door or not...

I would recommend looking into ceramic tint.. more money but its more pleasing to the eye specially after youve had the car for a few years...doesnt screw around with radio reception either...

Good call. I definitely agree. *^_^*
I think the officer did cut me some slack when I got pulled over for speeding a couple of years back. (rolled windows down & turned on the lights - mainly I didn't want the guy to ticket me for my 35% tint. lol~) What was amusing to me was (not so funny when I had to pay the fines) that I got pulled over literally seconds after I was bragging to my friend in the passenger side about my perfect driving record. To this day she gives me a hard time for it whenever anyone talk about traffic violations. -_-;;

Now... what sense does that make?

No tint on fronts allowed in sunny California? -_-a
After owning a car with tint for several years, I just refuse to get into a car without tint. No kidding I can literally feel my skin burn! (and umm... my friends call me a vampire for some odd reason >_< )

BTW, what's the price range of the "ceramic tint"? I've never even heard of it. I had green metallic tint on my last car.

Im calling the tint shop tomorrow - will let you know - Im much happier with the ceramic tint over the metallic...you dont get that metal sheen from certain angles and it doesnt screw with yer reception(for cars with antennae on glass)

Edit: havent called yet but the ceramic tint Im talking about is the FormulaOne Pinnacle Series

Edit2: Ok got pricing... 440 bucks for Ceramic for all windows... 240 for Dye Tint.. and 300 for Metalic....Im sticking to the dye tint on the Mazda.. while I like and recommend ceramic it dawned on me that there are no antennae or electronics for metalic to interfere with on the rear glass so I cant justify the extra cost... now its down to metalic or regular dye tint.... leaning towards dye tint as they are quoting me 6 yr replacement guarantee

Tint

I did 35% in the front and 5% in the rear.

Great during the day - and the bastards "high-beaming" you at night don't bug ya anymore.

It's a b**** to reverse in the dark though.

I got a ticket for my tints this morning coming from work! lol I bought the car with the windows already tinted a few weeks back but I had no clue what percentage the tints were until the cop told me today. LoL 30% all the way around. Normally I pay attention to the cars around me when I'm driving but today I was extremely tired. It was an undercover cop talking on the cell phone driving the new grey Magnum! I Got busted for my tints and my Radar Detector. Urgh.

that's a right-s*** deal...

30% is too much?! very lame, very.

(five-0)

Yeah well I go for my tint next tuesday and the limit here in PA is 70%! HAHAHA What a complete joke. I think I might go 35-50 range all the way around. Stupid laws and their stupid ways.

Looks sharp.

$200 USD?

yep and $220 if i did 5% but that's obnoxiously dark heh. i got it done at AutoFX. it just costs me an extra $40 to get it inspected. it was funny the AutoFX guy told me to go to this inspection place and as i'm walking away he walks up....

"i'm guessing you've never been here before?"
"no sir, why?"
"well let me tell you how it works. leave $40 on the dash and we'll pass you no questions asked."

the $40 collectively from other people can afford a lawyer or pay off any fines or infractions they receive, it was funny :)

I plan on getting my windows tinted next Monday. Gonna go to Omega TintWerks in Pleasanton. He suggested Front %50, Back %20, and it'll look smooth. He's been highly recommended so I'll trust him.

Here in CA the the CHP says "Illegal... Tinting the front side windows and the windshield (except for a narrow band at the top of the windshield). Windows behind the driver's head may be tinted. If rear window is tinted, right-side mirror is required (26708 VC)."

Hopefully %50 won't get me hassled
