Window tinting and Silverstars

umm you seem to be wrong on the H7. No where on that page did I see a H7 listed. And If i remember correctly someone on the board asked a Sylvania rep about them and they said they felt the H7 was bright enough and would not be making them.

There is a shop in Prescott Valley AZ that quoted me $198 fo all nine windows. Thats 35% on the frone doors, Limo(5%) down the sides and 20% on the hatch.
I have the Lazer blue MP5 and "Pro-Tint" has a dark tint with a hint of blue. Nothing like the yellow tint. ( Different strokes for different folks)

Hi There,

I live in South Jersey. I got 20% on all the windows except the front driver and passenger windows for $170 with a lifetime warranty. I didn't do much price comparisons, as my wife just got me a $100 gift cert for xmas there.

Autodogz in Audoban NJ If you are from the souther part of the state.

Thanks for all the input. :) I think I'm leaning towards a silver tint, after seeing equinox's pics, but I might change my mind if the difference is dramatically higher.

Just so you know what the tint laws are in Jersey...

Any tint on the front driver and passenger side windows is illegal...

Silver (mirror) tint is illegal on ANY of the windows. They install it there, but they let you know that its illegal to have on your car.

I didn't need that big of a target symbol on my car, but if you can get away with it, go for it....It would look super sharp on a silver car. But I know the fines are hefty if you get nailed.

I was aware of the front and passenger window law ... not about the silver tint. My father had his M3 done with mirror tint, and so I always assumed they were ok. Gah damn Jersey. (rant)

Thanks for the heads up, back to black ... lol.

Andrew

As added note,

The previous posts about the existence of H7 Silverstars are actually all correct, except for mine. Heheh. The US branch of Osram (makers of silverstars) are setting to launch the H7 models in the late summer or fall. (rant) The German branch of Osram, however, have them already on the market for our friends across the Atlantic.

According to a sales rep, the differences between the American and European Silverstars are as follows:

1. American versions have a coating on the bulb that filters out red rays, causing the beam to be 'whiter.' Europeans don't have this.

2. European versions have a different 'beam pattern' because their traffic signs are 'taller' than Americans, therefore, the light reaches higher and farther.

Does anyone have Silverstars installed that can confirm this ? Though, I think i'll still be ordering a pair from the UK, regardless. :p

Our foglights use H3 bulbs, right ? I want brighter fogs ... should I replace the entire set of foglights, or just plug in a couple Silverstar H3's ?
