Any one else have a drivers side window that seems to clunk with it shuts or begins to roll down? I think mines off a bit and brought it in to have it looked at. They said everything looked cool with it but when I took the car back it still clunks. None of my other windows do that.

I have no clunk.

Not rubbing anything in.....just saying that your noise may be car specific.

Thats pretty much what I wanted to hear. If everyone elses is doing it, I'm cool with that, but this is the only one out of the umpteen cars I've owned that's ever made this sound and they swear theirs nothing wrong with it.

Keep in my my other car is a 3 series. I get 15 window roll ups and roll downs before the window falls into the door. I'm on window regulator #3 on a car with less than 60k. Good thing BMWs are cheap to work on and their parts are reasonable. :rolleyes

My last car was a 2003 Audi A4, but I feel something different on my MS3. It's not as smooth and at 2600 miles I can already feel a problem coming on in the future. It's not as bad a "clunk", but for lack of a better word, I guess I have it too.

same for me, just the driver's side. At least it feels like it. I thought it was something I did during my audio install. Nice to know it probably wasn't.

There are 2 bolts holding the glass to the window regulator. Take off the door panel and tighten the 2 bolts to stop the clunking.

be very careful tightening the screws, the plastic holder clips on the glass are very easy to strip out.... strip them out and you'll need new clips

CTGrey I notice mine slam shut with a pretty loud thump... I do get a slight thud when they first start coming down but I figure its the seal.. no all 3 clunk/pop/snap on the way down tho

LOL! how well I relate..sorry Swamp - I see you share in my misery... I have gone through 9 window regulators in 85K miles and have given up on it (would need 3 more) -- I managed to get them stuck in up position....

Ya I saw dealer had a 20% discount on regulator fix.. it could be had for the low low price of $400 and they had a all 4 special for $1500.....

GeeWiz German engineering: make window regulators out of brittle hard plastic that doesnt withstand heat worth a damn... you dont need to worry about heat in Bavaria I guess....

I've replaced the regulators on other cars in the past, and could easily fix it myself, the point it's under warranty and I shouldn't have to, lol
