Window cleaner

what is the reason for using wadded newspaper? I would think that would be a no no? I used to work for Ray Ban and they always told us never to clean a glass lense with anything other then a microfiber cloth or something that was 100% cotten as even something as soft as a cleanX will eventually cause small scratches and dull marks.

not your best stuff Kain...kinda disappointed

Hey, even Jordan shot 5 for 20 on occasion.

Newspaper doesn't streak or leave lint like cloth does.

Newspaper has just the right abrasiveness. The only drawback is it leaves a bit of a mess on your hands. Plus, we no longer get the local paper, so I'm running out of cleaning material.

Personally, I can't stand those microfiber cloths. Almost no absorbency. I use 'em only to remove the Rain-X

And not to mention with Microfiber, once they start showing its age, they leave lint behind like crazy.

Mike - you can pick up the NE Chronicle for free at certain locations. That'll load you up with some newspaper :)

no scratch marks with the news paper?

I have heard that wet sanding with a brown paper bag is good for removing scratches. Ever try that?

Ok so my windshield is annoying the s*** out of me. It has like water spots or soap scum all over it and when driving and light hits it i can see it all. I have tried washing it, use my windshield wipers, windex and last resort stoners spray cleaner that was talked about but nothing works. Its like the spots are stuck in the glass. Anyway I can get the spots gone like when i bought it new???

Are the white marks on the inside or out? Try the Stoners on the inside and if you determine they are on the outside then....

go to store an buy a can of Bonami cleaning powder. Its like any cleansing powder cleaner but it is guaranteed not to scratch. Don't buy anything else. Find Bonami.

Go home get your hose out.
just hose the window down and the sprinkle a liberal dusting over the window and get a good scrubber/dish brush (i use scotch-brite pad) out and literally scrub it all around the window trying to work it in to a lather. You could use any cloth but it seems to asord too much powder and takes away from cleaning ability of powder. Once done, hose the window off thoroughly. And the car if needed. Just make sure the white residue is off the car. I usually do the Bonami before I wash the car just in case but that is just me and my OCD. If the marks are still there then I think you should call your insurance company and see what they can do in replacing it b/c its etched in... :(
