I am finally rebuilding the motor that has a blown motor. When the rod went through the motor, it also took out the windage tray/support plate that sits between the block and oil pan. The motor I bought to rebuild has a tray, but obviously it is for a non turbo, so I would need to drill and tap a hole and either weld or epoxy it in.
My question is has anyone welded or epoxy in an AN fitting to the windage tray? If so:
1. What size AN -10 or -8. I prefer a -8, but it is slightly smaller than the original fitting
2. Which method did you use, weld or epoxy
3. Has the weld or epoxy held up
4. If welded, any warping or did you bolt it to the block when you welded
Thanks
