Wilwood wow!

Yes it is limited time deal they might go into production in the long run.
If this is the case then I need to figure out what I will be doing. If this is a real good deal then I will have a dilemma on my hands and I won't know what I want more the Brake Kit or the coilovers. Please get the quote posted as soon as you can so that I can try and make up my mind.

Thanks

correct me if I am worng but isnt the brake system the exact same for both the Mazda3 and the MSP. I can swear that the brake system developed for the MSP was carried over into the production of the Mazda3 so its possible that these will fit Msp's as well

we should start a 4 caliper wilwood thing for proteges.. are all protege calipers like universal? or are mazdaspeeds different?

Yes they infact use msp rotors i believe and just fab rotor hats and caliper mounts. If one of you would like to start a thread in those forums and then see if there is interest i will ask tony about the chance of them producing these for the msp and protege.

am interested.... subscribing.... can't wait to see what the package and $$ will be... thanks king13

I'd be very interested in seeing something (front and rear) developed for the Proteges... depending on cost of course...

You kind have already started a thread in those forums this is MSProtege.com.
I am sure if we did a group buy for the 3's and MSP's AWR would make a pretty penny off of us. I am loving those Wildwood Calipers but I would like a larger than stock rotor cross drilled and slotted! Other than that I am totaly in for this though oh yeah steal bradid break lines would be nice to. Ah hell why dont they just put together a full big break up grade for us.

Have you figured out what the cost of the package will be yet? I really would like to get these but I need to know ASAP.

I spoke with tony today he said no quotes untill next week. His contact at willwood is off till then, and also he is trying to get the best prices on lines pads etc.............

Titanium99 there is no need for these to be cross drilled and slotted and bigger. These are six piston in the front 4 piston in the rear unless you need to go 200 mph or your a serious racer then this should do. Maybe for the show aspect but that would be way to much money for just regular enthusiasts. Also it is an upgrade pads , lines etc...

Does the stock master cylinder even have the capacity for that much piston area? Wouldn't the pedal be pretty soft?
Also, how do they integrate the e-brake with the rear caliper?

Sounds like over kill to me. They actually should be cross drilled and slotted since they would best fit those that want them for show.

Not only will you be adding expensive larger brakes you are adding rotating mass. And how much are replacement pads? I'm sure with those calipers you very limited.

I'm pretty sure there is not a Mazda3 on this board that could use or justify the larger brakes.

Upgrading the pads and lines if you are a serious autoXer will be just as good.

well here is an idea on the price, most big brake kits for just the FRONT are STARTING at $1000
I could see this being a $1500 kit

That seems pretty high to me, but I don't know much about brake upgrades. Last time I checked on a brembo big brake upgrade with slotted and cross-drilled rotors, calipers, and ss brake lines it was only like $1500 and that was for the front and the rear. Can't remember where I saw that though, some website, wish I would have put in my favorites now.
