Will this void my warrenty?

- Install HID lights
- Corksport MM insert
- Mazdaspeed CAI (soon to be released new one)
- Suspension
- Shortshifter and bashing

If anything happens to the headlight wiring, ballasts, etc. due to the install - no warranty coverage on affected components.

Motor Mount inserts...can't think off the top of my head what that might affect. I think they're pretty safe.

If you have the dealership install the CAI, you have no worries. (A relationship with your service writer or service manager could get you around any problems you encounter with a self-install)

Suspension (springs / struts / shocks). The only components I can think of off hand that would be affected by this are suspension bushings and strut top-mount bushings and that's far-fetched. Just know that if you have a failure related to any of that, you're gonna get grief.

A shortshifter basically increases the speed at which gears are engaged when you move the shifter. This can increase the stress on synchronizers. If you have a synch failure and have a SS installed, there's likely going to be a warranty issue. Bashing? If there are clear signs of abuse, there will also be issues.

Ya its all about the relationship with your local dealer. I took my car for and oil change with a bung plug in place of the 2nd O2 sensor on my Cobb DP and all they said was "you know your check engine light is on?" Next visit they said "good to see you got that taken care of" i still have my warranty....

^^^^ They aren't going to void your warranty just if they see mods. If something happens and you need something covered than see what happens. Not saying the relationship thing is bad but its a risk. Friends of mine have tried and paid the price.

Stick to removable modifications. When it's time for a dealer visit, take the mods off.

Mazda USA stands by their policy that if an alteration to the vehicle is determined to be the root of the cause for which you are claiming warranty coverage, then your warranty for that specific issue will not apply. Dealers will usually follow this policy enacted by Mazda USA; however, sometimes they do make exceptions.

It's good that you build a close relationship with your dealership and all, but, at the end of the day, they are working to make money just like everybody else, and, if your warranty issue will burn a hole in their pockets, then there will be no more happy faces.

- Corksport MM insert
- Mazdaspeed CAI (soon to be released new one)
- Suspension
- Shortshifter and bashing

- HID will probably void electronic portion of your warranty
- MM inserts won't really affect your warranty
- MS CAI will NOT void your warranty
- Suspension mods will DEFINITELY void the suspension portion of your warranty
- SS and bushings - I am not so sure.

I can't see how performing maintenance on your own vehicle could void your warranty unless you did something wrong like didnt fill it back up or something along those lines.

That stuff is like voodoo -- if you believe it, it's true.
