- Install HID lights
- Corksport MM insert
- Mazdaspeed CAI (soon to be released new one)
- Suspension
- Shortshifter and bashing

just wondering before i do anything to my car. :)

there really isnt much that will cause a blanket void on your entire warranty. All of those things can void certain parts of it though. Example, You install some aftermarket HIDs and all of the sudden you get a burning smell and your power cuts out. If it can be somehow linked to your aftermarket HID's, then you wont be covered. get it?

I see on your shopping list you want to paint your calipers.... better watch out or it'll void your entire warranty! Lol. Just get on good terms with your Mazda dealer. Take your car their for oil changes and let them do the work on the car. Ask them if these things will void your warranty.

if anything should happen such as a check engine light it wouldn't be that difficult to go back to stock. the dealer SHOULD approve of the MS CAI though.

I think bashing your car will void the warranty. I'm not sure though.

He doesn't have a warranty.. He has a warrenty. Read the thread title.

I bet his warrenty will still hold up, so long as the parts are replaced by balsa wood equivalents, and the mechanic is chimp with a hard hat.

Does ignoring spell check void the Warren G?

Not sure about the other stuff but I know the CAI depends on the dealer. The one where I bought mine said it would void it but another one in the area said the MSCAI was good to go.

I wouldn't try to build any relationship with your dealer. They rip you off on oil changes and anything really. Even if you install something as simple as a CAI, and something bad happens . . . who knows what they will do. Luck of the draw there.

Had a friend with the best "relationship" with a subaru dealer. Had them install a bunch of his mods and knew everyone there. He blew his tranny and they turned their backs on him. Pretty sad.

Bottom line is if you don't want your warranty jeapordized, than stick to removable mods that you can pop in and out. Some dealers wont void your warranty but they might still refuse to work on your car.

The only mod that I will eventually have and wont remove for dealer visit would probably be springs.

Buy mods that you can easily take off in case of dealer visits... you can never be too safe. Or you can ask the dealer about what mods are okay and what mods are a no no, but since you won't have it in writing you're still risking the service manager/general manager turning his/her back on you. Good luck and have fun!

bulls***.

building a relationship is key.

thats how i have the mods i do and my warranty isnt void. thats why adding a FMIC isnt giong to void my warranty. and i will find out soon if they will turn a cheek to my dp as well.

so building a relationship is extremely important.

to the OP, go speak with the service manager, get to tknow the techs. let the service manager know what type of mods you are looking at getting and get his thoughts. thats what i did and it was a great idea. my service manager was cool with intake, bov and fmic b/c he said they would make the car rum more efficiently. cool with MM b/c he knew the stock one was s***. and the techs turn a cheek to the tp

also, get to know the techs. the techs will hide stuff from the service manager if the service manager isnt cool with something

BUILD A RELATIONSHIP

bulls*** ??? You could at least try and be semi respectfull

I wouldn't give that type of advice until you blow your engine or have something serious covered. As I said my friend had a great relationship with his dealer and something happened to his tranny that was due to a fualty car from the factory. All of those smiling faces change when serious money becomes involved. Another kid I knew blew his speed 6 engine with bolt ons and some sort of flash tune. He knew the service manager well and she knew what mods he had. She refused to cover him and he thus got rid of the car (10K for an engine).

If you want to build a "relationship" with your dealer and hide things behind the service manager fine. But thats a risk that you may or may not be willing to take. Just keep that in mind. Its really luck of the draw.
