Hey guys,

I'm new to this forums and just picked up an 03 pro5. I want to put golf sti rims on it but I was wondering if I could get some tech information from you guys.
What do I have to do to get the wheels on my pro5?
spacers?
spacers with studs?
bore out the hub?
roll out the fender? even with a 1.5 drop? (which I'm thinking of picking up eibach on ebay)

I know the pro5 rims are 16x6, but the sti rims are 17x8?
Its coming off of 06 sti so the bolt pattern is 5x114.3

Any information would help.

Thank you so much

Please post on pls pm me.

thank you

Up to you. The safest thing would be to have the center bore drilled out to 67.1. The maximum spacer you can put is 8mm without extended studs on our Protege's. I know as I am running 8mm. Anything bigger you would need extended studs or the bolt on spacers but that is more expensive.

I love STI wheels on our cars. I really considered them before I bought my FD Wheels. I may still buy some down the road.

STI Wheels have a 53mm offset as well. I do not recall if you would need a spacer to fit them on.

You would need spacers to run them and the center bore drilled out as stated. Like dark angel said, 8mm is the largest we can run without longer studs and if the sti wheels are at 53 and the stockers are at 50 that would make your offset 45 which should work. IMO the sti wheels look damn good on the p5!

yep, gotta deal with the center bore issue and ur good to go, be it by spacers or boring the STI center bore out. STI=56.1mm, Most all 5 lug Mazdas = 67.1mm

Good to know, I was unsure about the spacers. And good call on placing offsets as well for both, totally forgot the P5's. Given you place 8mm spacers you wont need to worry about the center bore on the front wheels, just rear as mine still stuck out a bit but as stated I would just have the wheels bored out which would allow rotation of your wheels.

@dark angel-
So I could use 8mm spacers in front and back to fit the 06 sti rims? And I have to bore out the hub to 67.1mm?

Well I used 8mm spacers in the rear and the center bore still stuck out a bit. The front I used 6mm and it covered the center bore.
