Will Sti Brakes Fit on msp?

i have a buddy that bought a wrx when he was in the market for and sti but the salesman talked him out of it because of the cost incurred to replace the rotars and pads. assuming he was quoted stearlership pricing it was 3500 for a brake job.

Never in the history of a STi has a brake job cost $3500.

well from subaru the brand new rotors for an 04 sti cost about 1000 dollers and i work at a performance shop so thats with our discount

well i was sort of wrong and not to get too far off topic, my buddy was quoted from the dealer that it was 2000 bucks to resurface the rotors and replace the pads at the dealership. now take into account the 1000 bucks (at a discount that the OP gets) and you are damn near 3500. good luck with the install though, this should be a sweet looking set-up.

no. I work in a dealership. Sales guys know s*** about parts and service. Unless they are resurfacing the rotors by hand, and using brake pads made of gold theres no way its costing 2000 for brakes. Machining rotors is a simple process. The pads for a monoblock 4 piston yes, probably cost a grip. The ones for the Genesis brembos list for $308.

So hypothetically even if the brake pads cost an absurd $500 at your friends dealer, that leaves 1500 for machining the rotors and labor.

Continuing this hypothetical situation, lets say the machining costs an absurd amount...another 300. that still leaves 1200 for labor. At 92$ an hour, thats about 12 hours of labor. That almost 2 work days. Assuming the technicians good, that means he can get a job thats rated at 12 hours labor in half that, its still taking him the majority of his day to do a brake job.

...really?

speed 6 rims are pretty badass, maybe some rx8 rims but personally i dont think they look that good on the protege.

these could be some cheaper alternatives instead of getting cheapo rims or name brand rims.

would you happen to have any pics of the msp with ms6 rims? and your car looks pretty bad ass l

i think the only guy running speed6 wheels has a yellow P5, not sure if there are any msp's with them on.

ill try and dig up a pic for you

If the visual point of having monoblock calipers is to see them, why cover them up with multi-spoke speed6 wheels? wouldnt you want something that will show them off more?

stock speed 6 brakes, direct bolt on, no modification at all. you gat a BABK and you will never have more tire than brake and you don't have to get any different wheels, the stock 17s are fine.
