i didnt start the thread, im just saying that with the rite supporting mods to an mp3 its not as slow as everyone is saying it is

thank you, someone agrees. they only had 30 less hp than the msp from the factory as compared to 70 less for the protege 5 and the es

yes msp is rated at 170hp and about the same in torque, msp are known for their midrange, 3500-5000rpm, power. they are good on launch and through 3rd. any higher speeds than 80 they fall off. this is due to the variable intake vanes in the runners. i had to take mine out and i dropped .5 in the quarter and my ending speed was 5mph faster. another advantage the msp has is a limited slip, its crap but it works to control anything less than 300hp. for the mp3 the best thing to do is to get a small squirt of nitrous. they have the same motor as the msp so its very limited, i would say a 50 shot and nothing more. or just get a disco potato and throw 7psi at it. just my two cents, this is all assuming that you have some disposable income. remember, pay your mortgage first damnit.

msp was rated at 170.. correct?

Sorry, didn't see this reply back then. Yes, the MSP is 170HP, the MP3 is 140HP and the P5 and other 2.0 Pros are 130HP.

Nitrous + Advanced Timing = Pop

i'm kind of appauled (sp?) at this. Accord's are like the black sheep of the Honda family.. they're heavy and under-powered. kind of disappointed that a protege of ANY kind lost to one....
also - Protege MP3 - 2493 lbs
- 91 Accord - 2738 lbs
