Will a 98 626 2.0 fit in my 03 mazdaspeed protege??

Hey i have 2003 mazdaspeed protege and was wondering if a 1998 mazda 626 2.0 engine will fit since i was told it would plus the engine is only 200.00,any help would be greatly appreciated,Thanks

It will fit, you may have to use some of the parts from the MSP engine, valve cover, etc but there are internal differences in the engine.
This thread talks about the changes made to the fs engine. In 98 it had a cast crank and in 2000 it became a forged crank, also the pistons have changed since 98.
