because the MSP and regular protege's use a FS-DE 2.0L engine, while the 4 cylinder Mazda 6 used VVT MZR type engines, whiched ranged in size from 1.4L to 2.3L

it is true that the mazda 6 in america only comes in either a 2.3L I4 or a 3.0L V6. However, in europe the mazda 6 also came in a MZR 2.0L engine.. so that's why he said it was for either or.

displacement isn't the only distinguishing factor between every engine ever made. (poke)

I'm wondering if that acutaly will fit.. I thought he was talking about a FS-DE headder for a 2.0L protege, but he acutaly could have really meant what he said: headders for a 2.0L MZR Mazda 6. They look the same as the 2.3L Mazda 6's headders.. I'd say give it a try.
i love it when people say the obx is cheap looking - then i click this and smile. the fact that the seller spouts off claims of JDM SUPER is bs enough. the welds look very thin, i am guessing the pipes are as well and the guy has a few complaints on poor flange fitment in his feedback.

plus, no spots for your o2 sensors whatsoever. letting the ECU read your air/fuel ratio must be optional on those JDM SUPER cars. ;)

what are you a welder...lol the welds only have to be 1/3 the thickness of material. there not bad lookin i wouldnt buy it unless i was ready to modify it to fit right.lol

the saying goes; you get what you pay for..

the no O2 sensor bungs should be enough to avoid it. I didnt even notice that ken, good eye. :)

thin metal + thin welds + engine vibration + heat ... i've seen headers with equal or slightly better design to this one break under even regular duress. it is in expensive, i'll give it that.

hell its missing the most important thing on there its cheap i gotta give it that too. but hey its JDM people will buy it because of that alone why i have no idea its made in china not japan possible mexico though

so good buy or not??

well yeah its a good price but then you gotta lotta work ahead so i would say no to it i weld for a living i make alot of custom parts for cars on the side when i have the time and if it came down to wanting this header i know you will be having it fixed every year or less... its really up to you its a good price but if your not a welder that can repair it i would say dont do it

cool, thanks. damn, i wish theyd just hurry up and make a good header for the 6i. draxas aint sellin em, and gt-spec has one, but its stainless and is also one for 2.0 and 2.3. i want one just for my car. grrrr

my guess like the chevy/saturn 2.2 and 2.0 are that the 2.2 has smaller ports on it but i have no idea how do i know because i made alot of those and sold em...lol during winter i slow down and make parts but so far i have been to busy to even finish my car.lol
