will 17's fit the ms3?

I'm looking to get the ASA J8 17x7.5 inch rim with a 215/50/17 snow tire... will it fit with the big brakes? What about the offset. The factory rims have a 52.5mm offset, so will the 50mm offset of these wheels work?

Chances are reasonably good it will work, but for now the only way to know is to try it. None of the major wheel/tire dealers like Tirerack have analyzed the Speed3 and put the data into their systems. Try to find someone who will allow you to return the wheel if it doesn't work....

You may want to consider a snow of 205/50x17 - you may find more choice in tires in that size, and it is less than 2% off the OEM specs so should work fine (that's what I just did for my Speed3: dunlop wintersport 3d tires on Motegi FF& 17" rims - which I had to try on to make sure they would work)

Tirerack just posted the stock size for the tires....They said that it's 215/45/18 for stock. They also said that it has a +48 offset so I would think that would work out right.

That's the correct stock tire. The rims have 52.5mm offset, however. Tirerack still won't recommend rims....

I had a local Tire Warehouse order them from American Racing, once American Racing told them it would fit. I also emailed Motegi directly, who confirmed it should fit. It DOES fit fine, clearing brakes nicely, although the offset is 42mm so it sticks out a little more than stock. Same would happen putting on 18x8 RX8 wheels which some folks have done.

Sorry I didn't finish - they cost me about $120 each. The total rim/tire package in 17" for winter will end up cheaper than paying a lot more for 18" snows and the extra cost of dealing with TPMS precautions twice a year. Yes, the dash light is on for no TPMS, but easy to get used to....

7" wide. bolt patternis the same as other mazdas: 5x114.3
