OK guys, I just noticed this driving to school yesterday morning. At about 55MPH there is a odd pulsation in the steering wheel and gas pedal. Slow down... goes away. Put it in neutral at 60MPH, pulsation is still there. Anybody know what this can be? Im kinda worried about my LSD snapping in half, but it does it even under no load in neutral. Maybe my wheels are out of balance/alignment?

Thanks

either that, or bent wheel. i have been there, and thats exactly what it felt like.

i hate "me too" posts, but i'm going to make one. that's the exact behavior i experienced when i bent one of my rims.

No, i dont think that I hit any curbs/potholes lately, but my tire has been losing air for a few weeks and I have had to fill it up every few days until I got it patched. Do you think I threw my car out of alignment? If I did bend a rim, is it covered under warranty or am I gonna have to shell out money for a new rim?

Definetly get the tires rotated and balanced, it won't hurt anything. See if it fixes it, and check the rim with the tire that loses air to see if its bent or not.

Dude, it's probably a tire making that vibration/pulsing feeling. What you should probably have done is, an alignment and then possibly have all 4 wheels rebalanced. But one problem that you may not be aware of is, uneven tire wear. If you your alignment or tires have been unbalanced for quite some time, then your tread on the tire could have been wearing uneven and this will def. cause some weird feelings and sounds when driving. Good luck.

well it was losing air for a few weeks before I could get it patched, and probably wore terribly unevenly too, but I've never had uneven tire wear do that. It always pulled to one side or the other... but I could be wrong. Oh well, the stockers arent going to stay on there for long anyway. But more importantly... "If I did bend a rim, is it covered under warranty or am I gonna have to shell out money for a new rim?".

Thanks

Alright guys, here's the deal. Went to the stealership to get my locking lugnuts removed (I lost the key somewhere... ordered me a new set though) and to have the vibration checked out. They put the tire up on the lift and...... the tire has a bubble where the sidewall meets the tread. So, $320 later, I have a new pair of Yokohama ES100's on the front. Next month I'm putting on the back pair, and I will never buy a set of Bridgestone/Firestone tires again.

**** Bridgestone. **** them in their stupid asses.
