17psi , 17.5 psi , 18.0 psi. I know the turbo becomes less effeciant and blows hot air at boost beyond that. But I was thinking of going to 17.5 is that too much for our turbo, pushing the envelope too much?

it's not always about psi...a good tune on 17 (even less than 17) psi is faaaaar better than a crap tune on 18 psi. You might lean out if you run the boost too high or possibly hit fuel cut.

yeah I know that but I don't know how to tune so I was thinking I would increase it for the fun of it ... but don't want hurt the car or lose power

you might end up doing both...i dunno much about the speed3's but at somepoint you want to run less timing with more boost. If you up the boost too high and your timing is advanced far enough you will zoom zoom boom.

That is a general statement though. I know very little about speed3's so maybe someone else should jump in and offer some advice.

goooooood point thats why i'm looking for advise before trying it.

I had my car tuned at 15 psi for the first map and 19 psi for the secondary. It ran really well but I started to hit fuel cut about once a week(notcool). We made a few slight adjustments to the AFR and lowered the boost to 18 psi. Its been a week so far and it has ran perfect (drive2) Not sure what you would run your boost at without having a good tune though...

my car runs fine at nearly 18psi. AFR's looked great even with no tune.

then don't do it, simple as that.... I don't mean to be an ass, but its set where it is for safety. if it's not going to be tuned, leave well enough alone. Theres plenty of other stuff u can do for more power right now than simply turning up boost. And once you have those other parts, and decide to tune, it'll be that much better

what does your tune at 19psi look like? Still pulling fuel away?

they could have adjusted the MAP settings, which would allow you to run 19psi with no cut. but i guess 18psi is fine too !
