Why kartboy bushings?

I just ordered the TWM shifter, but have noticed more than one post recommending the kartboy bushings, no matter which shifter you get. I ordered the set, which seems to have everything needed to install. In fact, it looks like I will be getting metal bushings instead of rubber or poly. Is there an advantage, besides road noise, to using kartboy's?

the Kartboy bushing connect to a different part of the linkage (directly mounted on the transmission) than the bushings in the shifter.

As mentioned, the KB bushings connect at the opposite end of the shift linkage from the shifter... so they are able to be used with any shifter. They take the play out of shifting caused by the stock rubber bushing. I highly recommend them. One of the best mods for the money and very easy to install.

Ok, ok, twist my arm...I bought them. This should be much better. I know the first thing I ever did was get new shifters for my mustangs.

There Awesome i just put them in today... with my Kartboy... there very easy to get in! they reduce all the play like melbourne_mp5 said... so like now when your in first gear you can wiggle it side to side and it feels mushy... well with the bushings its hard as a rock! very nice! Have fun putting them in!

they have nothing to do with the shifter actuation rod itself... all the bushing does is decrease the flop on the shifter rod STABILZER bar... all that will do is keep the tranny/engine from rocking too much causing the actual shifter rod distance/angle to increase which will decrease shift precision... it does little to increase shift feel
