Why is it so cheap??

Back to topic. tha OBX manifold is poorly deisgned. The weight of the wastegate will cause htat to crack, look how its welded on a single runner with no support.
A MSP ECU will never run on ANY aftermaket turbo system effectively. Yes you can run it, but no it won't be optimal, and especailly with a T3 that the OBX manifold is built for.

Oh and to answer your question in the thread title, its so cheap, because you would be buying s*** products...

ok, i think this about settles it for people trying to go cheap on turbo systems

this together with the other thread on BOV's

hopefully someone benefits from this and never buys cheap s***

When your making an investement such as a turbo kit. There is no reason to go cheap products especially on something that could overboost and destroy your car. Your spending 1000 now, yea thats great, but when you have to buy another turbo in less than 500 miles, and a new mani in less than 1000 it will start to add up quick.

thing is, i've herad about successful frankensteins out there...s*** made out of the junk yard and home depot..

reliability? i dunno....ghetto rigged? you bet

cheap and s*** arent always related. i know escorts worth less than a msp's rims that use junkyard parts that could beat half the msp users on this board lol why not go with a simple setup like an msp manifold, MPINick turbo, used hardpipes/IC and a afc?

The thing is im talking about useing NAME BRAND and proven turbos, over a JDM t3/t4 <~~~No Brand

a turbo from a volvo that costs $50 is going to be better than a brand spanking no-name new one off ebay for $150.. why? because of the $12million dollar difference in engineering research. Those frakensteins work because they use parts off of cars that also work, and work well. How much research and testing do you honestly think was put into that no-name "JDM T3/T4" turbo?

they didnt engineer anything they rebuilt a T3/T4 to their specs. I doubt they could have the ability to procduce their own turbochargers from scratch. they just outsource the pieces and assemble.

s*** for that price id buy the turbo wastegate and bov even if it somehow broke you could get a rebuild kit for teh cheap. i bet it would be fine.
