From what I've read on the Subby forums that I go to, the stock air intake system is better than adding an aftermarket induction system. Seems that you loose some power throughout the power band with the aftermarket intake.charles said:The stock WRX air induction system is pretty good

mazdadan said:The reason they aren't standard is because they increase noise, kill low end torque on some vehicles, and most have poorer filtration than an OEM filter. There is a site online (I forget the link) which compares a ton of aftermarket filters to an OEM one.

Most aftermarket "CAI" setups will not actually help with power output and the badly designed ones will put your engine at risk. They do sound cool.
