Both my iPod and Zune car chargers make my mp3 players sound like crap over the aux input. Lots of nasty crackling, humming and buzzing that is not there when running off the battery.

Is it this way on everyones mazda/mazdaspeed 3?

Anyone know any fixes or why this is happening?

You need a ground isolator. Available from Radio Shack or Crutchfield. Simple and cheap.

The GLI goes between the player and the ACI plug. Radio Shack sells a GLI that has RCA connections. The one Crutchfield sells is 3.5mm-3.5mm which eliminates you having to buy adapters for both ends of the cable. The Crutchfield one is also smaller. ;)

Word? Sweet thanks for the tip will be hitting the shack on my way home.

How is the install? I see it has 1/8" adaptor does that go between the mp3 unit and the aux input?

Damn kid at Bestbuy... I ask for ground loop isolator he points me right to it. I ask 'does this have a 1/8" jack adaptor'? he replies 'ya, it doesn't say it on the box but it has one'

I get it home and the damn thing is rca onry. I get to take it back, but just pissed off I have to drive all the way back out there for a $20 piece of s*** that I shouldn't have purchased in the first place.

Tried the Shack first but they didn't have any in stock and they even called other stores and they didn't have any either.

Good news was I heard on the radio in the store Tony Blaaaair resigned. That made my day :)
