Why can't this be the new MS3?

What if the kid is too fat and gets stuck and then stops going down the tube?

then you have a severe 'fat kid caught in tube' pressure problem. this usually doesn't happen if he is lubed up with sunscreen properly... when enough kids get backed up in the tube behind him, believe me... chubs is then gonna come flying out at the speed of sound...

think willy wonka and poor augustus gloop....

And i hold stocks.. but it doesnt mean ill have a say

did you hold 33% of the company? Because thats what ford had. Ford had enough of a say to share technologies with one another. Mazda uses some ford parts and designs, and vice versa. This helps keep costs down.

The simple fact is that it wont sell here. Its a euro car built in europe. Not unlike the US focus we have here. Wouldnt make any sense to have two different focus models, and when ford is trying to give an impression of fuel efficiency, having a 300hp version wont be helping anything. Especially with the general consensus of how people look at domestic cars.

If its was imported, it would cost more than people would be willing to pay for a focus. Especially when a base focus starts in the low teens, and this one probably starts in the mid 20s USD.

That Focus RS is bad ass! I would love to own it in Blue. The car has evil intentions and will deliver the pop at a twitch of the throttle.(yes)(10)

36,000 is way to much. And if that is in Euro's then it would be 45,703 in US dollars...:(

I repeat:

Where'd they come up with THAT figure??

You can't put the price in terms of U.S. dollars, exactly, since the car is not sold here...Likewise, if you do the direct Euro-to-dollar conversion for cars like the GTI and Volvo C30, the $ number you end up with is much higher than those cars sell for here in the U.S.

simple currency calculator. 1 us dollar is equal to .78 euros. either way I will stick with my 19,000 dollar speed 3

Well, as I said before, a simple currency conversion will not tell you how much a car will be sold for across different markets. There's a lot more that goes into pricing a car than a simple currency conversion. :)

I believe they are priced 1:1. That is, if it's 19K Pounds, then it's $19K here. I got that impression from the British tv car shows.

I agree, as I said, a simple currency calculator. I am sure you are correct.

If that is the case, then we are talking a $36,000 dollar front wheel drive car with a bit more hp than the Speed. The article did say the $36,000 price tag is keeping it from being sold in the US. But really dont see this as a $36,000 dollar car, but thats just me.

I do like the frown of the grill better than the smile of 2010 Mazda 3.

this is why I think ford is stupid because every where else in the world, ford's are pretty decent cars. Look at the mondeo st or whatever it's call that's in the same class as the ms6, and the focus rs has been out for years in europe. it would make a mustang look like crap(still don't like mustang except the 5.0's in the late 80's early 90's) which is probably why it's not here. I would probably pick the rs over the sti and the new evo.

+1

I personally think it would be great for ford to bring this car to the USA. If they can keep the performance and price comparable to an STI or Evo, I bet they would easily have a market for it. After all, theres lots of people, myself included, who would like to help support American automakers, as soon as they are products that are competitive.

car makers are going in the wrong direction lately, that is ******* appalling, along with the '10 Speed 3.

Made me think of, "it's time on Sprockets we dance"...

Dita is driving around Germany with his monkey in a black Focus RS. Touch his monkey, touch it.

$36,000 for a focus is too much. Nice design but I would buy only for around $26,000.

The 2010 MS3 should have the grill design from the focus RS, it would look great on the MS3.
