why are people switching from Joe P MBC tp Turbo XS?

Yeah, I thought the fuel cut wasn't actually a fuel cut...I think that the ECU cuts the spark.

Think about it: The ECU is seeing too much air flowing through the intake. It thinks that with all of that air, there won't be enough fuel to maintain what it considers a 'safe' A/F ratio. If the ECU cut the fuel, then the motor would go dangerously lean, causing detonation.

I find it hard to believe that the stock ECU would cut fuel instead of cutting spark.

Ive had the joe p xz mbc for a while it spikes 1-2 pounds on 10 psi but is very consistent and always does the same I heard the turbo xs mbc's spike 2-3 pounds at 10psi so I like the joe p it works very good best 50 bucks I've ever spent.

I agree. The ECU would not cut fuel. It is plain dumb, specially after Mazda made the A/F ratio so rich to make the car reliable.

agreed, i think we would have many more blown engines on this forum if it was a fuel cut.

I would like to clarify. I was refering only to an extra injector system and this problem. Ie... Fuel cut on stock injectors only would result in some fuel delivery still coming in (From EIC) but without the stock injectors to maintain ballance the car would go very lean but still run.

The EIC simply adds fuel based on MAP/Tach signal. It dosn't work on A/F or MAS.

I know many people understand this on this website. I'm not trying to insult anyones inteligence. I wanted just to say it incase there are people who misunderstood what was talking about.

If anyone is interested in an EIC system have a look on...

SDS ( Simple digital solutions ) for a EIC-2 or EIC-4. Really slick way to maintain A/F on Boosted engines!!

Ok WTF with MJ, Touchie Touchie = Prison man. I thought you had found that out before...
