Why a brake upgrade won't stop the car faster

Because even when you have Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus—one of the best street tires you can buy—you can still lay down 10 feet of rubber with factory brakes.

Now imagine repeating this on the OEM tires.

The rabbits here have a death wish. All of them. Fortunately for them and my car, none were harmed.

I was going 30-35 mph when I hit the brakes. The temperature is 25°F.

Seems like the ABS would have prevented wheel lockup on all wheels, wonder why that one wheel locked up?
I have no idea. I heard tire sounds from the driver's side and the rabbit was under the car by the time the car was down to 5mph. I had to turn around and go back to see if I actually hit the damn thing. Thankfully all I found was this.

I don't think it was 100% locked though. There was just enough braking force to put the tire under stress.

I ran over a skunk in my IS250 once. Driving down a 50mph street at night, wife (then girlfriend) sleeping in the passenger seat. It jumped out from some tall grass or a bush or something and I had no time to react, and clipped it with my rear wheel. Immediately drove it to a coin-op wand wash. She woke up to me spraying the s*** out of the rear wheel and a pungent skunk smell. She can be a bit squeamish about dead/dying animals so I just told her I felt like washing the car and that some kids were probably smoking bad weed around the corner lol.

Wasn't easy getting all the stuff out of the wheel well because the car was lowered with wheels flush to the fender.

having hit many rabbits (they are just rodents) they really don't make a mess. I suppose if you hit one just right you could get gut splatter. Living in Montana you hit lots of things...Turkeys are bad they can do damage as like hitting a bowling ball. Pheasants can take out a grill..deer, elk, moose are really bad...I hit a bear in my cx5 right after I got it. freaking bears are solid...did some damage. I hit a duck before and a few cats..I hated hitting the cats but no avoiding them..my buddy hit a deer on his motorcycle and that was a mess. he was lucky as hell as he did not go down but literally gutted the deer and was pretty much covered in guts. Had he tried to avoid it he would have certainly crashed.
