i just wanna see how it would sound, taking off the recirculting tube. Will it be harmful, will ne screw up? i'm not gonna keep it tht way but i wanna see if it gobbles. I know if i go to neutral it would stall etc.

You won't screw anything up, there's just a possibility you'll stall out. Don't drive too dangerously until you get used to the chance of stalling.

the turbo would blow up.

just kidding. worse case scenario is stalling, as tease has already mentioned.

it causes lag and a CEL. I know it'll cause ideling problems and the lag. I'm pretty sure it'll throw the CEL also. It's made to recirculate for a reason. It has something to do with the engine expecting that extra bit of air to be there when you go to push on the pedal again. Do a search for aftermarket BOV's. Thats where I picked this up.

yup, did it and it sounds AMAZING!! finally! a nice long PPSSSHHHH and no distorting gobbles, i even tried making it gobble but its didn't. But ya the stalling issue is a big problem and also felt a bit of lag. I was careful not the stall but it did, kinda scary (power steering goes out!), but no one on the roads so its fine.

no turkey? really? hmmm....maybe the return pipe on the injen is too small and it causes some compressor surge. but people who have vented aftermarket bovs have still gotten the turkey right? so maybe not....just a thought.

they shouldn't unless they reroute the air back into the system essentially making their aftermarket bov into a better version of the stock bypass valve

...the only thing it will do is run really rich and stall like they said............ the reason is the air that is going out of the BPV has been "seen"or"read" by the MAF and the computer adds the fuel for X amount of air......let the air out and you still have the fuel....so the car goes rich when you let of the gas

...now if you move the MAF to the pressure side of the system......you can run a BOV or BPV open ...and the car will run smooth

Increasing the idle will pretty much eliminated the problem. You can read about it in the forced induction section.

.....all that does is up the IAC count....it will help the car idle.......but thats not the FIX for the problem...

i just did it, it didn't stall, i put it in neutral and coasted and was fine. Actually there is a still a bit of turkey not enough to notice, and a little bucking when shifting.

the bucking is what I was talking about.......when you shift and the BPV opens....the ECU dumps fuel...and then you get back on the gas and it will stumble for a sec and then go.... it just gets really old after a while....

If you disconnect your battery for a minute or so and then wait 300-500 miles, the PCM will compenstate for the fuel.
