UPDATE!! parts are gonna hopefully be here by this weekend. im only going to do the head gasket, but i did order the big gasket kit posted earlier. holding off on the water pump and timing belt because lowe's doesnt pay me enough lol. but does this weekend work for you guys? if so, date and times?

I hear that haha, and sounds good! Do we need a computer or anything to check the timing after the gasket swap? With me not doing the timing belt job I didn't know if it was necessary.

Just make sure the engine is at TDC and the cams line up properly, and you should be ok.

I am no expert on your engine design, but if the timing belt has to be taken off of the cams you should take the time to change it.

I agree. I know with the Miata's engine the water pump and the timing belt are almost always replaced at the same time.

I'll replace the belts themselves, not enough money for tensioner and idler kit...

Update: work is not letting me have off so this weekend is a no go, which is probably best being that my woodburner in my barn is not fully installed yet (smoke stack). I'll post up a date when my boss let's me have off. Sorry for the inconvenience everyone :/
